You underestimate how deep that maga pride goes. Pelosi had to force the departments to give them medals for risking their lives that day. they're more likely to be killed by other officers for testifying against the rioters.

There’s some post traumatic stress involved.

These guys aren’t soldiers and weren’t mentally prepared for hours long hand to hand combat. And like somebody else said they were fighting the people who are usually their most vocal supporters. No Congress gives the medals...The bill has to be formally intoduced.I had believed she oversaw the police but in actuallity there are committees in senate and house who do so.Only a small faction of rethugs voted against it.
