If one only uses economic policy to determine what a "liberal" is, MLP is one too. She's not really about changing how the economy works. Anyways not many over here are mistaken about Macron and what he stands for, and it's certainly not progressive ideas, that's for sure.

Regarding “race” as a general idea: Regardless of our individual views on the topic, the world is going to have to address the role that the “idea” of race has played in the forming of our modern world. There are literally edicts that were put forth by Rome and the papacy that fueled Western European colonization that targeted populations based on skin color/race, and religion (or lack thereof.) The resulting actions of those very edicts literally shaped the modern world and who sits where in society. Each of us has the responsibility to become more historians than we have traditionally been. We can’t just focus on what’s going on now or even just the last couple hundred years.
Google: “Dum Diversas,” “Inter Caetera,” “Dudum siquidem” just to start and go down that rabbit hole.

That’ll give you a clearer picture of why we are where we are today. Once you understand these things and realize there are still people fighting tooth and nail to maintain this society that has been the result of what has essentially been an ongoing 500 + year war. It’s just that now the war has evolved into one of ideas. Us having this discussion here is literally one of countless “battles” being fought online/in person about how we feel about this world and where/how we go next.
