Ok explain why is this a dud?
He forgot to craft songs. The production aches to be grandiose, the song writing is unsure of itself and wanders intermittently mid song. Subject matter vague. Worst of all, melodies/hooks are few and far between. At his core, he's an introspective artist who perfected the art of letting it out within well crafted pop songs. He's forgotten about the latter with Blonde and to my ears it sounds like a convoluted mess. JMO.

This is so false on multiple levels. The production is sparse and minimal at best. I think pink and gray is the only track with drums and percussion. Subject matter is the same as always. Love, fear, self doubt, confusion, faith. Typical emo ocean stuff. He's was never the type to craft pop songs that easily accessible. Even here it's more so. Like I said, this is advanced listening. It won't click on the first or fourth listen

I disagree

Agreed, however the execution is lacking

Strongly disagree, go to a concert of his, it's sing a long session. He has a heavy teenage fanbase for a reason.

Subjective & nevertheless strongly disagree. Advanced is a mostly meaningless qualifier when judging music, especially a pop act. it's Frank Ocean not Autechre.

If you're truly enjoying this album more power to you, I'll await the next one.

There's no point in trying to convince someone if they didn't like the album. With experimental projects like these there's always gonna be a hit or miss factor for some listeners and not everybody will understand/feel what the artist is trying to do. This is probably my favorite album in a long time but I can accept it if some people didn't like it
