I love music with guitar in itdifferent strokes for different forks i guess. Frank Ocean is a very talented writer, he sings and raps quite well too but just like other artists, he is not for everyone. Frank is not like a big superstar or anything, the small number of us that vibe with his music like him so we get hyped every time he drops something.

thats funny cause thats what I think he's exactly trying to do with some of his new songs. He's trying too hard to have trendy, witty lyrics that relate to the new gen demographic that love this basic pop.
his last 3 songs have been more geared towards this crowd and type of music. which I can't hate on cause he knows that is his type of fan base.
Frank aint a kid himself. And hes been around a while. So I expect his music to reflect that.
Im just saying his lyrics lack the substance you'd expect after his first album and I expected some progression lyrically. The music isn't bad. The lyrics are lacking.
And that song with jay z was pretty much trash....
but this is all based off high expectations for an artist like Frank. Not really a diss. If people out there are treating him like he's the next Prince or something then Im gonna expect a certain level of music.
They're are plenty of artists just as talented, and better singers who get less hype.
