frank fukked up bc of his anxiety and shyt. he has a good sound and cross over appeal. the male r&b scene is wide open rn he could claim that throne if he wanted it enough.

Hip hop in general is in love with cacs with moneyReally tho....like we get it....you like the watches....ok
And he seems to have a recent affinity for Russian Oligarchs too......his love for cacs wit money seems to never end and only take different shapes also....it used to be Bill Gates and Warren Buffet....now it's the Russians.....the Swiss maybe next

So i imagined those years of rappers idolizing the mafia? Rappers weren't name dropping guys like Donald Trump in the 90's? Tommy Hilfiger didn't somehow become a thing in the hip hop community? Cristal wasn't getting bigged up by every rapper until, ironically, Jay-Z called them out for their racist statements? Jay forced Nas to work for Hennessy, right?Jay has been in love wit cacs wit dough .....it's virtually always been him wit this love affair....kanye followed suit.....the rest who do it followed them

(as a side note, my childhood homie (a black male) is a top marketing exec for Moët brands, Hennessy's parent company....they're hardly racially tone deaf)
....bill gates/warren Buffett and some others over and over and over again.
The reaches you just did to cape for rappers idolizing rich white people are laughable, but commendable at the same timeTommy Hilfiger became a thing cuz his fashions were dope.....
The mafia was spoken of because of their criminal underworld activities
Cristal (also brought on by Jay) was bigged up because it was good champaign (until they dogged Jay and dame overseas and they quit mentioning it)
Nas working for Hennessy has nothing to do with shouting out rich white people over and over in songs(as a side note, my childhood homie (a black male) is a top marketing exec for Moët brands, Hennessy's parent company....they're hardly racially tone deaf)
And trump got named dropped but by many artists at sporadic times.....nothing like the convulsive repetitive way Jay Z has done it....bill gates/warren Buffett and some others over and over and over again.
Except for donald trump none of what you mentioned parallels to rappers mentioning rich white people just cuz they are rich white people. Jay does it and did it because he was seeking acceptance into the corporate upper echelon of America .....now its Russian oligarchs....maybe Rex tillerson is next, who knows
Jay-Z brings up Bill Gates because he prefers PCs to Macs. See how easy it was for me to deflect from the argument with pointless justifications? No offense, but I don't care who your friend works for. Moet, Chandon, Versace, Cristal, Hennessy, Rolls Royce etc, etc are owned and operated by rich white people. These brands were being touted by rappers before Jay-Z. Before Cristal, rappers were getting "pissy drunk off of Dom Perignon" Affluent rich white people were being rapped about and held in high esteem by rappers before Jay-Z. Jay-Z isn't forcing anyone to do anything and he hasn't done anything new by name dropping powerful, rich white people. Black people have participated in criminal underworld activities too, but for every Bumpy Johnson reference, there are ten references to some dead Italian gangster or some Hispanic drug dealer. For every time Jay referenced Basquiat there are ten references in hop hop to (colossal sized) Picasso. The beer Caine dropped in Menace being similar to Jaz-O was a dope reference to a black gangster movie but unfortunately I have to deal with tons more references to a movie about a Cuban moving weight in Miami. Tommy Hilfiger had dope fashions...so did black fashion designers but let me know when Dapper Dan gets referenced more than Ralph Lauren. Jay mentions successful people in his raps in general. All rappers do. If you want to push this narrative that he's obsessing over rich white people I'm just gonna keep giving you examples of why you're wrong.
