Jeezy was gonna do Gibbs just like he did roccett, tone trump, the big tigger look a like nikka from LA and never give Him a release date
to be somewhat fair.. Gibbs should've done his homework, prior to even signing to CTE..

he wasn't gonna drop over there, period.. but, that bit of affiliation, and distribution connect would've helped..

So jeezy controls release dates now:sas1:

I coulda swore that type of thing would be up to the distributing label:sas2:

True. Gibbs signed to Jeezy with blind loyalty. Gibbs even said himself that he signed to Jeezy because he felt he was a "real nikka" That loyally ended up being a detriment to Gibbs career. Gibbs could have looked at the past 6 mc's that were used as tax write offs.

yes.. he does control release dates for CTE artists.. its his label..

distribution controls the product, not when & what a label releases..
Labels like cte aren't real labels. Maybe cash money can do that and birdman really call shots. They parent label is the one that's opening budgets and allocating marketing dollars.

You mean to tell me rick Ross is the reason meek hasn't had a 2nd album in years or the suits up at Atlantic.

CTE actually is a label.. the parent label, has nothing to do with distribution.. which was your original statement.. the two are separate entities..

CTE's parent label, has an allocated amount of money to promote artists, and push their product with Jeezy's stamp of approval.. when said product is ready to go to matket, the distribution company is delivered the product at a reasonable cost.. the rest is history..

as far as Meek.. yes.. Ross has alot of say.. its his artist.. if he didn't want Meek to release an album, it wouldnt see the light of day.. someone would have to scoop him up on another label, buy his contract out, etc..

:comeon:

So I guess death row, shady, grand hustle, tide aren't real labels either :rudy:

Let's be honest will Freddie Gibbs ever get a major release?

Honestly at this point I don't think Gibbs would even want to be signed to a major at this point. He's been on inter scope, cte . I think he's grown tired of industry politics and is good where he is. So to answer your question, probably not

I know what u saying. But for example Ross can't just say meek dropping and release his shyt without the parent label being down. Unless he gonna cut the check for everything.

It's a cop out to try to blame jeezy that Gibbs didn't pop. Yg popped and what exactly did jeezy do for him?
