His video was taken out of context (and he even predicted in the same Clip that it would be).

I get where he’s coming from. It was light-c00ning but not as bad as the thread title made it. If you’re a rich rapper, you’re going to be more of a target in an urban neighbourhood.

If he moved to a rich white suburb, I doubt most people would even know who he is. They’d just assume he’s a rapper or athlete. :mjpls:

I live in a suburb and I’d rather deal with passive aggressive racist CACs than have to look over my shoulder constantly.:mjpls:

Don’t care what you say. This whole “keep it real” shyt is dumb. And MANY of you feel the same way but you’re too chicken shyt to admit it.

The video was not taken out of context at all as it was like a 6 minute clip with an intro and everything lol. And the thread title is accurate and not misleading at all.

I’m not gonna be obtuse and act like I don’t understand his point as I do, but it’s a very basic and limited way of thinking. He is essentially equating safety with white people and white neighborhoods. And in general the more affluent and safe neighborhoods are mostly white. But he could easily find a safe upper class or affluent neighborhood in Houston with plenty of black people or I’m even sure majority black people. My homeboy parents live in the DMV area in some area that’s the wealthiest black neighborhood or some shyt, so neighborhoods like those exist. And this not to say he has to live in a neighborhood with mostly black people. It’s to say, if you wanna find a safe upper class neighborhood that’s mostly black in Houston, I’m sure you can.

Ie : Pickerington Westerville Delaware and etc.
Ain't just CBUS rural Ohio has been suspect for decades, a few years ago some of the high schools around Cleveland stopped playing sports against those rural schools because they'd use slurs on the field or court:scust:

Willie did not check him. Freddie made his point well enough. I currently live in the neighborhood that I grew up in but every single activity I love to do is done in other neighborhoods. At any time I can be walking around with two to $4000 worth of camera gear. I dropped a five dollar bill in a Jewel-Osco and a kid slid over and scooped it up. My bank account never has less than five figures. Practically speaking, I am not supposed to be around certain people because like Freddie said in the video, dudes will want your stuff.

I’m about to slide four figures into TD Ameritrade and attempt to do real estate photography on the side. Also, one day I want a Porsche Cayman. When you get to a certain point, you are better off living with people who are doing as well or better than you. I have been mingling with millionaires for the past four years so unless a majority black city pops up near me in Chicago that averages a six-figure net worth, I’m not interested. It sucks to feel this way but if I’m going to have generational wealth, I would do better to go where the wealth goes.

White people who got their own neighborhoods.
in arenas that lack urban intellectualism are bonafide clucks tho.

Why move around them at all.

I regret moving down south.
As i see where it is no urbam intellectualism no matter how visually outdoorsy it appeals. To be filled with urban intellectual lacking racists and clucks.

I can nOt wait to move back home to tha chi.

I do understand him. In his position, he's going to have a target on his back being in the hood. And when I buy a home, I want to be able to chill in peace. It's why some of my family left the Newark area and moved to central Jersey. At the same time, everyone in black neighborhoods aren't hood nikkas. I'm not saying to move to the worst area, but if everyone with the means to do so leaves the community, who is going to be left?

The point is Freddy was equating safety and safe neighborhoods solely with white people which is absurd. If Freddy has enough money to have plenty of options, then he could easily find the type of neighborhood or environment he is looking for that has decent or majority black population. It just may not be as many neighborhoods like that compared to the all white ones. However, they are out there, especially in a city like Houston. So dude was not smart enough to articulate his point fully, or really don’t feel safe around black people…even well to do ones.

:yeshrug:Ask that question of the people who see them as food. You can have thousands of positive reactions but it takes a few to make em say fukk it. My cat has popular to steal tires on them in an area where tires have been stolen. Little shyt like that…why would anyone want to live where that can happen?

And yes, it technically can happen in a richer area, but the odds are in your favor.

That's why I said I totally understand. You work hard for your shyt, and there's people who only understand how to make nothing out of something. At a point you get tired of trying and you have to do you.

The point is, he equated safety and safe neighborhoods exclusively with white people, which is a very inaccurate line of thinking. Does he care about safety most or does he care about living around white people most? Cause if he so desired, he could move to affluent black neighborhoods. He doesn’t have to live in an all white neighborhood to be safe
