His video was taken out of context (and he even predicted in the same Clip that it would be).
I get where he’s coming from. It was light-c00ning but not as bad as the thread title made it. If you’re a rich rapper, you’re going to be more of a target in an urban neighbourhood.
If he moved to a rich white suburb, I doubt most people would even know who he is. They’d just assume he’s a rapper or athlete.
I live in a suburb and I’d rather deal with passive aggressive racist CACs than have to look over my shoulder constantly.
Don’t care what you say. This whole “keep it real” shyt is dumb. And MANY of you feel the same way but you’re too chicken shyt to admit it.
The video was not taken out of context at all as it was like a 6 minute clip with an intro and everything lol. And the thread title is accurate and not misleading at all.
I’m not gonna be obtuse and act like I don’t understand his point as I do, but it’s a very basic and limited way of thinking. He is essentially equating safety with white people and white neighborhoods. And in general the more affluent and safe neighborhoods are mostly white. But he could easily find a safe upper class or affluent neighborhood in Houston with plenty of black people or I’m even sure majority black people. My homeboy parents live in the DMV area in some area that’s the wealthiest black neighborhood or some shyt, so neighborhoods like those exist. And this not to say he has to live in a neighborhood with mostly black people. It’s to say, if you wanna find a safe upper class neighborhood that’s mostly black in Houston, I’m sure you can.
