THEY REMADE THE MOVIE IN 1997 MORE IN TUNE WIT THE BOOKS ORIGINAL NATURE....STEPHEN KING HATED THE 1980 VERSION, BUT VOUCHED FOR THE 1997 VERSION HARD.

The character development of Jack actually had me feeling sorry for him.
