FREE backwards compatibility for Xbox 360 games on Xbox One

I got an Xbox One and PS4 in my house, best of both worlds

Interested to see how this pans out. Ign is saying that the games wont play from disc on the xb1, instead the game will cue the system to download a digital copy. I'm interested to see if the disc has to remain in the console during gameplay, if not, Gamestop is about to get destroyed with purchases and next day returns

Game Disc will be needed to play from what I've heard, but the actually game will be downloaded online, but will not cost money. The disc is gonna be like the security card needed to play, unless you have digital downloaded games on your 360. Those will just show up in your Xbox one Games library ready to be installed.

Gamestop about to fukk us over...say goodbye to those cheap 4.99 old games, demand about to increase.

yea they gon play like regular xb1 games, where u have to download them to the HD and keep the disc in

A couple games showed up on my list of games to download. First one I downloaded was perfect dark. Looks, and plays great on the Xbox one. Now I put in the disc for perfect dark zero and it automatically started downloading the game. We'll see in a second if I'm able to take the disc out and play without it in a few minutes

It's already been said, but I just confirmed, any disc games you have must stay inside the Xbox one in order to play them. I took the disc out and got the message "do you own this game or app? If you have a game disc insert it now".

It works perfectly. I hope they add some major titles like gears of war and mass effect. Already playing perfect dark on the Xbox one is incredible.

Just the preview build gonna stay small. Once it launch in the Fall, gonna start with a list of at least 100 titles, with bunches of 100 more each update. And I read that every Microsoft exclusive should be up at some point.

I want Bayonetta, Virtua Fighter 5 FS, Tekken Tag Tournament 2 so I don't have to waste time on Tekken 7, Dark Souls 2/Dishonored/Bioshock Infinite so I can finish them, Shadow Complex, Fight Night Champion since we ain't seeing one for awhile most likely, pretty much every other fighting game I didn't mention, Mark of the Ninja, Red Dead Redemption, and Castle Crashers

The REASON it downloads is because the XB1 nor the PS4 can read a game off disc to play
It downloads and streams from the HDD. Last gen was the last gen of reading off disc
