Would vote for Macron if I were a french citizen, I think he'll be the best for the country going forward. Generally speaking centrists are the way to go for me.

With that said I'm expecting Le Pen to win. Her potential rise to power looks eerily similar to Trump's, as was the case with Trump I'm not too concerned with the polls.

Again, it is probably going to be about turnout. Le Pen will likely win Round 1 with everyone rallying around Macron to pounce her out in Round 2 like what happened with her father 15 years ago.

Shooting just happened at the Arc de Triomphe, one cop dead one injured...ongoing, nothing confirmed as to who did what (terrorism not confirmed yet). :francis:

le pen called in the bigger guns.

First info would be that the attacker directly shot at police, not at civilians, thankfully because it's hundreds of packed people on the Champs.

Yeah Le Pen just said these days that if she had been in power all he attacks (Bataclan, Nice, Merah) would not have happened...which is utter bs, but you know how populists move.
Ironically one pro-Fillon camp said that he needed "an attack" for his campaign :francis:

Wait so Macron says he is "Progressive" now? I thought he was centrist?

Maybe he's trying to siphon Melenchon voters? Could hurt him in the runoff though...

Also, kinda odd to only do those tweets in English

He's been pushing to the right lately, so he has to push to the left now. Indeed Mélenchon is closer so he has to go at those voters.

Regarding the use of english he's trying to appear "above" french politics and "modern".

As someone who was in France less than two months ago, I can say the majority of French people I ran into were weary of losing their language to English.
