You know I hate being the "a$$hole" in these situations, but if you make 180K for about 8 years that is almost 1.5 million dollars (before taxes and other bs). If you find yourself in THIS kind of situation with your "wife" also having 2 masters and just willingly giving up her career on some "oh, we can't get child care" and on some "it's really not an option" for me bs is infuriating.

What about the ones who have to worry about REAL shyt? Like putting food on a table? You think they would not figure out a way how to get that teaching job and have their children being taken care of? Honestly the wife in this situation is in a much better position than the guy here and just being stubborn.

They BOTH need to shut the fukk up, stop doing video specials to get sympathy from the public, get herself that teaching job and have the GUY look after the kids. If his wife REALLY has his back she should help with the payment of the other marriage since the guy is trying to do all he can by watching the kids and figuring out a way to get out of this mess. They should sell the house as well, you don't NEED a 600K home...you can sell that shyt and downsize to a 150K home somewhere else where her teaching credentials would be accepted and live WELL WELL off even if the guy is unable to get another good job for the rest of his life.

Simple fukks this is not a case of 2 people making minimum wage and having to figure out how to make ends meet. I feel absolutely no sympathy for them. Consider the people with REAL problems with no education, kids, and living in a project somewhere and come back to me. That house they live in is mansion status.

In the current housing market, owning is almost always cheaper then renting. I guess if you bought a shytty house that needed tons of work you would be right.

in my apartment, any thing that breaks, the landlady sends workers to fix it the same day. i dont be pay sh1t. in ur house, anything breaks, u fix. all that tax deduction u get will be spent fixing sh1t...in most cases.

the thread really isn't about owning a home.

if u start making 150k, and u have the discipline to live below ur means for 5 years, at the end of that 5 years, u can go build urself a brand new home instead of buying home already used...and possibly abused.

if anything breaks in ur new home (which u just built), i doubt u'll be the one paying to fix it. the company that built it for u will, if the break happened before ur warranty period lapsed.

The more money you make, the more you want to deduct. PERIOD. And the repairs on a nice priced home don't come anywhere near what you pay in mortgage interest. Having a good home inspection to make sure you don't buy a fukked up crib before purchase is key.
