Hawks-Nets series recap
8:14 a.m. Saturday, April 18, 2015 | Filed in: Hawks

The Hawks swept the season series with the Nets, 4-0.

Here’s a look at how they did it.

Hawks 98, Nets 75: In the Dec. 5 game in Brooklyn, the Hawks outscored the Nets 36-13 in the second quarter as they made 12 of 18 shots from the field. DeMarre Carroll scored 14 of his 18 points in the period, including 4 of 4 from 3-point range. The Hawks led by as many as 30 points. The Hawks also got 17 points from Paul Millsap, 14 points from Jeff Teague and 13 points from Dennis Schroder.

Hawks 113, Nets 102: In the Jan. 28 game in Atlanta, the Hawks won for their 17th straight game as they closed out an undefeated month. They also won 31 out of 33 games, this one in front of a national ESPN audience. The win matched last season’s win total of 38 with two and a half months and 36 games still remaining. Paul Millsap led the six double-digit scorers and three double-double performers with a game-high 28 points and 15 rebounds. The Hawks also got double-doubles from Horford with 20 points and 10 rebounds and Jeff Teague with 13 points and 11 assists.

Hawks 131, Nets 99: In the April 4 game in Atlanta, the Hawks tied their franchise record with win No. 57. They led wire-to-wire in the lopsided victory. All-Star Paul Millsap injured his right shoulder late in the second quarter after he collided with Earl Clark at center court chasing a loose ball. He missed the next five games before returning in the regular-season finale. DeMarre Carroll and Al Horford led the Hawks with 20 points apiece in a game they led by as many as 39 points and finished with a season-high point total.

Hawks 114, Nets 111: In the April 8 game in Brooklyn, the Hawks won hours after Thabo Sefolosha and Pero Antic were arrested in the early morning outside a night club. The Hawks, also without Paul Millsap, couldn’t hold a double-digit lead in the fourth quarter. They pulled out the win with Al Hoford’s dunk, on an assist from Kyle Korver, with 19.1 seconds remaining. After two Nets misses and a Hawks rebound, Jeff Teague sealed the game with a pair of free throws with 2.7 seconds left. The Nets become the 11th team to be swept by the Hawks.
