In a short demo between fighters Cassie Cage and Quan Chi, Cage pounced on her foe and pounded him senseless before smashing his head into a pile of red goop.

Netherrealm says there are over 100 brutalities in the game. Unlike in previous games, brutalities aren't triggered by long, complicated button presses. They are enabled by certain conditions, such as winning a round with a throw.

Co-creator of Mortal Kombat, Ed Boon, teased brutalities on Twitter a few days ago.

Not really feeling the Brutalities too tough, I was expecting the OG combo-style versions

thats the thing, some of the ones they showed were kind of weak, but i imagine the ones they havent showed and the hidden ones will be the dopest.

TORONTO!
dope. I like most of em

I think they noticed in MK9 that a lot of tournaments were ran with the no blood code which prevented frame drops and sped the game up since there was no Finish Him screen either. even without the code people still weren't slowing things down with fatalities. I guess they felt that wasn't the spirit of MK so they added these to please everyone

Those were trash. They were glorified Ultra combos where all the character did was explode at the end
:yeshrug: A lot of people fukked with them. While the exploding body parts was cheesy, the skill and memorization they took to pull them off made you feel some type of way when someone land one on you. When they said "Brutalities", I was thinking of a better, less cheesy version of those.

But after seeing some more of this new Brutality system, I see what they're going for, and I'm diggin it. It's basically a fatality system aimed at tournament level players, that's dope.
