As far as the story goes, it takes place right after Mortal Komat 9 ended, and goes as much as 25 years into the future.
You can expect aged characters, and the next generation of fighters to appear.

I swear I was thinking it would be Raiden. Probably not Liu Kang though unless they bring back Zombie Liu Kang, but even then he wouldn't be a major villain.
