16 credits equates to one damn semester. I find it very hard to believe he can't find a way to finance 1 semester.

Also find it very hard to believe he can't find a job. Sounds like he has an intelligent mind, and is an ex NBA player. There's no way he's on the grind, putting out applications, following up, and marketing himself correctly then. He could certainly get an entry level sales position in many different fields.
theres companies that would hire him just off his short lived fame as an nba player. hes either still heavy into weed where he cant pass random drug tests, or just expecting something to just be handed to his no degree having ass without putting any effort in. if hes still in colorado, in state tuition for one measly semester of school is not much out of pocket at all. but like i said before, if hes not willing to put the effort in now, what difference would having a degree even make. plenty of people with no degree are on the grind and work/network their way into a solid opportunity. it doesnt just come out of this air though

He's could 100% get a gig in sales or marketing with his past pro career. There is now way he is hirable right now. Doesn't sound like he even has the capacity to maintain a job anyways

Hearing him say he still wants to play ball too... smh. That tells me right there he isn't trying to enter to real work force

No offense, but he must be a dummy in some sense. You have SOME college credits..your would be resume will say former professional athelete.. I know tons of people with NO degree with a desk job.. He cant work FedEx? Yeah, he just a dummy maybe...

Sad nonetheless..
Real talk something might be off about dude. Since he's known in the Indy area he could fan-dangle something better than McDonald's. He's a former Pacer. He can't jump into selling cars at a local dealership, drive a Pepsi, Budweiser, Wonder Bread truck? Its nothing close to being a pro athlete but damn. I read that article on Marshall Henderson who's in Iran making like $10 gees a month playing ball. Its dangerous over there but he's stackin and gettin' his head right. Might even get a NBA summer league spot at the end of the season. This Harrison cat must really be a head case. Nobody is touchin' him with a ten foot pole

I'll take the opposite angle since everyone else has went the usual route. Family has to be the worst for a pro athlete. I understand helping someone but mf's leech off them and they feel an obligation to do whatever they can but they gotta realize that they helping folks who ain't got shyt, don't want shyt, and will continue to have their hands out till you say no

No hope for him in the real word outside of sports...

Who the fukk is hiring a 7 foot dude...

shyt if I even ate at McDonalds...and a 7 foot dude tried to take my order...I would walk out...

:russ:
Now that I think about it, I realize now that everytime I've seen a tall person in McDonald's, he's in the back fixing up the food, never taking orders at the register. :ohhh: Only the obviously young have been the exceptions.

There may be something to this. :ohhh:

Big Boss nice article brotha. But ain't it a trip how the mainstream media loves these rags to riches and back to rags stories of black athletes. But let there be a story of these Kat's leaving the pros and running their own business or how they are making even more money than in the pros and the mainstream media will barely do an article on it.

I mentioned this last year when folks were talking about mashburn. I was like it was known for years this dude was making power moves since he retired. But the media ignored that shyt for years. Or how about Bruce Smith owning real estate.

People in the media will talk about emmit smiths failed attempts at sports casting, but won't acknowledge dude a made man now. Doing business in real estate with roger staubach.

$4.4 million........am I supposed to feel bad for him? Even after taxes that's more money than the vast majority of American FAMILIES will make over a 30 year stretch.
EXACTLY

Also, smoke weed everyday brehs. I keep trying to tell people on what kind of path this can lead you and show underlying issues. The fact that it should be legal is not a good argument, its a simple discipline issue. He knew he shouldn't have smoked weed, so he goes to justify his actions because of a coach? It sounds like he just couldn't deal with the pressure and used it as an excuse. On top of that, if you realize that your yearly income has gone way down...you have to make some significant changes in your lifestyle. Sounds like bad decision after bad decision.

So let's assume that out of that 4.4 million, he sees 2.2 million dollars. Over 30 years that is about 73K per year, and this is not even including SIMPLE interest that he could have earned because he has had all that money ON HAND for all these years. If you were to play conservatively and say that he earns 2% interest year after year off that 2.2 million that would equal 44K before taxes are taken out...which is more than a single middle class person is making in this country.

I will NEVER feel bad for a millionaire, hit me with something that I can work with. Give me an example of a person who has to stretch out 16K per year BEFORE taxes and then talk to me.

"abnormalities" are usually pushed to the back or the side.

The very fat, very skinny, extremely short, extremely tall, eccentric, or other different personality means you get pushed to the back. People don't like to talk about this, but its quite true. The whole everyone has an equal shot is BS, there are levels to this. When was the last time you met a completely "ugly" looking woman at the counter of a private doctor's office?

The 7 foot tall dude at McDonald's can intimidate senior citizens asking for coffee in the morning.

I'll let @88m3 cook in here if he wants to, I'm sure he is going crazy out there in Brooklyn with every small shop trying to emulate starbucks. Looking the part is 95% of the game.

Whats hard to believe though? nikkas is broke out here, simple as that. In a lot of nikkas cases thats all it boils down too. He's too much of a "freakshow" or distraction to work at a common job as stated in the article so where can he get work?

I have a co-worker that's 7'0, but he's in customer support and he's on the phone for the entire day. He's white though :yeshrug:

Marshall Henderson isn't 32

Marshall Henderson isn't 7 feet tall either. Dude could be caking in Korea, the Philippines, 2nd or 3rd division teams in Europe and the Middle East. There's no defence played in Asia. He is more skilled than anyone else in those leagues, he would be bigger than everyone in those leagues and he could get paid. There is probably a major issue with David Harrison we probably don't know about.
