Definitely not.

Mathematics, Statistics and engineering will put you to the front of the pack - depends on what school you went to.
There are Art History and English majors from HYPCC are actually fairly common.
How did the art and English majors get into that position?

They recruit on campus.

Most large companies do recruiting for internships and job placements on-campus - if you're a second-semester freshman or beyond at any major university you've gotten the email memo about recruitment dates, on-campus interviewing, and campus job fairs.

It sounds odd until you see it.

I did it for about 5 years and then used it jump into a senior management position.

i hated my time there, but I’m not gonna lie it is a career accelerator if you work at a reputable firm and group. because of the 5 years I grinders, I now have a chill six figure job which is a legit 9-5 and can focus on other things outside of just working all day.

Had a consulting internship last year and was offered a job.
I 100% agree with you, fukk consulting.
It was breaking me down as a person, I was real-life working maybe 30 irregular hours a week on top of another job, and full-time classes.
Had I accepted the offer it would have been 60+ odd hours a week travelling all over the US, barely getting sleep, barely at home, stressed, and jittery.

I completely understand, though Big 3 (MBB) pays well, you have to actually want that kind of unfulfillment. Plus, $110k + bonus feels a lot less exciting when you factor in taxes, COL, the national gym membership, benefits, and student loans.

shyt is just as bad as iBanking/BigLaw w/ more mobility.

that’s true. Consulting is one of those things where it can be some soul sucking shyt. Just really churning out PowerPoint slides, helping with a sales proposal, and then rinse and repeat over and over. And it’s full of CACs man I only know 2 other brehs during my 5 year period that were cool.

like I said in my post above, those 5 years of sweat equity paid off for me but never again. It was not good for my mental health.

The travel is cool if you're fresh out of school and never been anywhere. Setup rosters in different cities and such. I ate real good when I was doing the travel consulting thing years back. It was when Tinder first came out. Life was GOOD. :mjlit:

But that kinda life after a year or 2 is :gag:
