Not voting does several things and if you don't believe any of them you should write out an explanation so we can all go to your thinking if your right.

1. Leveraging our vote. We vote 92% dem. We make up around 25% of their votes. If we withhold our votes they automatically lose. White people vote like what 65%? Republican. They don't need us.

2. Withholding your vote shows that you have no faith in the government. That means you have made up your mind to get what you need through a different means. ( If not your just a bum ass nikka and I wish I never replied).

All the Dems gotta do is give us some tangibles and they win

It's not that strange, I would say.

I'll tell you why this is:

1. Biden's positions on busing or housing in the 1970s and crime in the 1990s are not necessarily his positions on those things in 2020.

2. Black activists within the party have put in a whole lot of work to move the party on black issues. We live in a white-majority society, so the idea that Dems can just support reparations as a whole party out loud doesn't work because if they did, they'd lose. This past primary, we finally got some candidates (like Warren) talking about reparations positively. That's due to a lot of work by black folks within the party.

3. Most presidents keep their promises and Biden has to promise as much as he can to his base, especially since black folks as part of that base basically saved his ass in South Carolina and propelled him to the presidency.

4. Black Americans who vote by-and-large have a lot of work invested in the Democratic Party, slowly inching it forward on black issues.

5. Black voters are pragmatists first, typically. We typically vote to stop the worse option as our immediate goal and then after that try to push for positive change on black issues.

Put all that together, and your typical black voter - who is older and likely more invested in the party apparatus - is going to vote pragmatically, especially because older black voters who have worked hard to finally get a little something for themselves don't want it threatened by Republicans.

It's not sexy to make incremental progress over periods of time so long that some shyt you push for you know you won't see, but your grandkids or great-grandkids might, but it's the most logical option when you are a racial minority in a two-party system.
