Only on the coli have I heard that GKMC was not a classic. I didn't understand the album at first but after multiple listens I finally got it and was amazed at the story he told throughout the album. I don't care what cats say about being too early to call something a classic. This album is still hot almost a year later and I can listen to every track like the first time. To me that means it is well on its way to being classic though I already think it is.

Heed Breed.
do yall youngins need a champion so bad you insult my intelligence spewing how classic this album was the whole year? its good. it got great beats. it got great flows. besides that.. how the fukk is this shyt a "classic" like ive had to read about and hear from UG heads :cape:all year. yall that thirsty ya just throwing that word out onto anyone who can spit a decent verse.

shyt loses a mic just for this dude switching his voice like a pre pubescent boy every song. some of these songs are great, good singles for a "lyrical" dude (and i use that term so fukking loosely) but na bro. it aint touching classic. i dont get why everyone hyping this kid up. his entire team is nicer than he is. album was a chore to listen to.

someone explain to me why this shyt is so hot to you, i really need to understand this

thats my opinion and thats as close to fact as its gonna get. bez

GKMC >>>> Both BIG albums

This is why:

Sherane 4.5/5
bytch Dont Kill my Vibe 5/5
Freestyle 4.5/5
Peer Pressure 4.5/5
Money Trees 5/5
Poetic Justice 4/5
Good Kid 4/5
Maad City 5/5
Swimming Pools 5/5
Sing about me 5/5
Real 3.5/5
Compton 5/5

its like a 9.5/10, and it has a message.

i agree almost completely except i would bump good kid up to 4.5 and drop compton to 4.5

Just a good album. I haven't played that in months

Two type of people who think its a classic

1) Like the OP said, young people who desperately need a champion
2) Westcoast cats who also desperately need a champion and put Westcoast hip hop back on the map

Sh!t is whatever to me

Its too soon to be calling it a certified classic but it certainly has the credentials to be a classic and i personally think in years to come it will be.

First off, miss me with the young / need a hero / hipster / and what ever else b*ullshyt you people like to throw at someone how drops an opinion that doesn't fit into yours on this. Im none of the above.

Firstly, its a dope concept album well put together. Its commentary from the other side of things. Cube was great at social commentary, but he was talking more from a G's point of view, an aggressive activist. Kendrick is honestly telling his story and how he aint built like that. I applaud his honestly, its refreshing especially given the amount of fake gangsters releasing sh*t these days. The story in itself is not groundbreaking, the troubles of police and gangbangin in Compton, but is perspective/story is different.

bytch Don't Kill My Vibe, Art of Peer Pressure, Money Trees, mAAd City and Sing about me are all top tier tracks. The only track that i would say was under par is Real.

Personally, i still give this album heavy rotation and i know a lot of other dudes do too. And it still sounds as good as it did the first day it dropped.

I'm not really one that judges an album on media or whatever, but its reception cannot be ignored. Neither can the fact that its gone platinum, in this day an age, with this type of record. Its unheard of.

tbh i could give zero f*cks about people catching feelings from this albums success, its your prerogative. But i can tell you that i, like many others, will be bumpin this in years to come.

That album is a damn near "classic" for me. From start to finish besides the bonus tracks, not a single track is getting skipped.

I love concept albums and hope there are more in the future from other talented rappers.

Ima be real it's a great album not classic at all mostly youngins n cats who r brainwashed believing that gkmc is a classic album... Trust me he will leave no trends with this so called classic .. No disrespect but only 90s babies n west coast heads hyping this really good album into a classic ... Towards the end of the deluxe album it gets boring sorry my opinion ... Ima ny head to not gonna front some songs r great but shyt ain't no classic....man swimming pools ain't no Cream, juicy,or ain't month in but a g thang nor it's has anything better than illmatic... Well every song is better than most out there alone, and as an entire production itself it's :obama: and just flows so perfectly and tells a great story

how is it not a classic? something with umsoproudofu is a classic but not gkmc :heh: :comeon:
