Ehh, thecoli in the early days was pretty much community out the gate given it was mostly a SOHH migration. As for being the Wild West, that’s what a bunch of posters, and founders, wanted after feeling over-moderated on SOHH…Dap City has posters who felt this place was under-moderated, you can’t look back at it in 2036 and call that a bad thing if that’s what the posters want.

Alot of ya'll are looking at it with rose colored glasses. Yes the Booth section was popping since the beginning. I was a lurker on SOHH and the Hip Hop section from there to the Coli was seamless. But the Locker Room was crazy with the shyt that was allowed there. 2012 was crazy. So many pedo posts, incest stuff, other posts of brehs trying hard to be outrageous as possible, dudes making unpromted posts on how they wanted to smash Denzel Washington lol smh

The Coli found it's footing in like Year 2 when the funny trolling, Coli poster beef, and interesting personal life discussions started getting more frequent. That's when it was more like a community

The booth and coliseum were pretty seamless transitions - edit and the film room which has A-tier live watch threads …TLR changed in the move here but like I said, they wanted less moderation. TLR has never matched what it was on SOHH so there are no rose colored glasses here, SOHH was a better community both in terms of posters, but clearly also due to not having to compete with social media the way thecoli and any message board 2012+ has

Because more people posted on forums, more frequently before social media took off. A 25 year old is not spending their day on a message board, they’re on tik tok, commenting on YT videos, chatting in discord, watching some shyt on twitch, etc. is OG’s was 25 logging on to SOHH soon as we got to work

And the coliseum was on and popping out the gate. They are who led the exit given SOHH broke down during the playoffs. There were threads pointing out Mel-yeah (RIP) posting alone in the OG coli given everyone was here. Look; you may not have personally found your footing in the early days of the coli, but it was a pretty seamless move. I’d say 80% of SOHH made it over, plus whoever the coli picked up from AHH and boxden. Not sure why you’re trying so hard to say it wasn’t successful out the gate

Once brook and cook said the site was up, Sohh was a ghost town by the end of the week. Sohh didn't have to completely die for people to move over.
