The SOHH to Coli transition felt pretty much immediate. Everyone made the move right away. There was barely any division between the sites. Coli was popping and SOHH was a ghost town within days.
I remember actually being pretty cynical about The Coli's long term prospects and figured it wouldn't last but I quickly seen the vision.
Dap City been more of a slow simmer. I just think we're all a lot older and a lot of people aren't going to be willing to make the move at this point, considering forums are basically a dying species now. We're one of the last ones left.
I've been doing this too long to ever do anything else. So I'm glad Dap City is around as a life raft. I'll be posting on whatever replaces Dap City in 2040. It is what it is. I don't see the need in creating a us v them situation between the sites but I have noticed some red flags with Dap City. There's a hint of Reddit energy to the place. Which is the opposite of what I want from a forum. You can say this place has been under moderated in some ways, but few things will kill a forum more than some overzealous mod who is acting out their hall monitor fantasies.

you can't just drop YN if you don't have a black verification badge on there. if you're black, there's a stickied thread where you verify that, and you get a badge within minutes.

Coli is also a reflex for most people - people are creatures of habit - they grab their phones and instinctively navigate to TheColi. Acclimatizing to a new website has a learning curve, and considering most people posting on forums are likely washed and set in their ways - all those features will not mean much to a lot of folks

.Voter suppression is definitely a thing especially in certain regions but 'taken from them' is a bit extreme. It was made more difficult but any right minded person stops and say, " Fukk it!" That’s when we welcome them to #BothSides. lol
