Maybe it’s because I come from European football and it’s hard as fukk to score there but I prefer lower scoring games. It’s more exciting when you feel like every basket matters and the players really have to work for that shyt.

That’s what made game 7 of the 2016 finals so special to me. Guys where killing themselves just get a bucket and stop the other guy scoring.

Yeah that’s why I loved Game 7 of the 2010 finals. People always bring that game up because of Kobe’s bad shooting percentage but in terms of the intensity of the defense played it was amazing. You could feel the struggle between both sides and how every single basket mattered. Amazing game.

Defensive battles can be great to watch if there’s a rivalry between the teams.

The 2 best basketball games of the last 10 years were Game 7 in 2010 and Game 7 in 2016. Both defensive struggles. And both were incredible to watch.

We not talking bout how we judge players right now. I agree that players with great O and lousy D are universally seen as better than players with lousy O and great D.

The issue here is style of play. What type of game is preffered. A grimy defensive battle like Game 7 of the 2010 NBA Finals or this running up and down scoring parade we see now.

Its clear that quality defensive battles are more preffered than scoring explosions by black folks vis-a-vis whites.
