The old ass ref on ESPN said he thought it was right not to make the call and directly affect the outcome of the game

What... wtf? That's such a bad look for refs, basically admitting they will make calls on emotions rather than actual rules

It was a fluid situation from fumble to illegal bat so emotions are always involved

It's bullshyt, Calvin fukked up, it's a stupid rule that nobody even knew, players or refs. Not saying it wouldn't suck as a Lion fan but breh, fumbling at the goal line and you deserve to lose anyway.
Rules are rules. You dont officiate the game based on what is smart or stupid and it's not about what anyone deserves. Can't have refs officiating games that (1) Don't know the rules and/or (2) Are unwilling to make the proper call on the field. Clown was literally sitting right there

Wait what should the correct call have been?
Detroit's ball on the 1 because you cannot intentionally bat a ball forward.

It's a correct rule technically. In this specific case it's very silly though because Seattle clearly could have easily recovered it. It was on refs to know the rule anyways.

not necessarily, fumble recoveries arent just cut and dry he could have dropped it or went through his hands. yes its a ticky tack call but it makes sense since seattle would have never had possession. looking at it again the ball actually bounced up, its momentum wasnt going out of bounds anymore. its an egg shaped ball it can bounce anywhere and recovery isnt guaranteed :yeshrug:

Horrible, canned responses.

Breh if you've been watching football for x amount of years, You've seen this happen dozens of times without penalties. The refs don't deserve a complete pass but this never gets called. No announcer or player complained about it when it happened til they brought some 120yr old man to the booth to say . That ball was already going outta the endzone. I'm not following this outrage.

Thing is, if this happened how ya'll think it should have, Ya'll would have been complaining how the Seahawks got screwed over by an obscure rule. Either way it's fukked up but the Seahawks def deserved the W more.

:what: the fukk does this have to do with what actually occurred and how it should have been called?

What do you want to happen breh? :yeshrug: Wright broke the rule, the refs should have called it.

I know my logic is flawed and biased. But I don't give a damn. After Kam made that great play I think the Seahawks deserved to win anyway.

Losing that game because KJ makes a mistake on an obscure rule would have been just as heartbreaking honestly. fukk it, we won, we're 2-2, we survived.

Have fun hashing out this debate that will amount to nothing in the end. I'm bout to pass out happy as hell. :umad:
