Wasn't Bret a free agent in the middle of 1996 and could have signed, but that was when Vince signed that 10 year deal though IIRC?

Bret always wanted to stay with Vince, he turned down a lucrative 3-year WCW offer to almost sign a 20-year deal for the same money with Vince. Vince then told him he wouldn't be able to pay him up front (he still promised he'd get it, but years down the line). Bret then signed the WCW deal and the rest is history

Yea there you go I remember that one. I forgot, but I remembering reading Death Of WCW that Bret would only sign with WCW if he made the same amount as Hogan, but a dollar more so he could one-up him.

Could be wrong, but I think Bret always wanted to stay with the WWF, and only signed when Vince said he couldn't pay him.
Yea I remember that in Wrestling With Shadows documentary.

 yup, Bret confirms that in his book. He goes into a fukkload of detail about his contract situation, well worth a read.

why did WWE make my nikka booker lose especially after this promo?:to:
Triple H in-ring segment with Booker T (3/3/2003) - YouTube

If I remember correctly, Book was supposed to win, but they found out Goldberg was going to join WWE and they wanted to feud Goldberg with HHH, and they had to make H strong heading into the feud, and they thought it would be pointless to have H lose at Mania, but win it at the next PPV, so they just changed it and made H win at Mania. Also, if I remember The Rock was supposed to face Booker and lose to him heading into Mania 19, but Rock scrapped it because he knew that H was gonna win at Mania, so that's why Rock faced and randomly lost on Raw to the Hurricane heading into WM 19.

He's a film maker from Hollywood. His initial run was so dope to me. He's my number 2 character ever behind Taker. His team with Book was genius too.

:takedat: @ Marlena

Word, his feud with Razor Ramon was classic!

The bold i know of somewhat so ill answer from recollection.

Sting was originally supposed to be the third man but was against a heel turn at the time. So Bischoff called Hogan who was i believe on vacation at the time. Stories conflict on wether he was happy about it at first but eventually went along with it.

Bulldog as returning to WWE was promised a wwe title match and a main event push in his contract so it was honoring that.

Not sure about Shane but the other two were very possible but it has been confirmed that they would not let Rey Mysterio out of his contract when he asked at the same time the Radicals did.

The E felt Randy wasnt as over as a face as they had hoped so they pulled the plug rather than gave it a full shot to fail.

The original Alliance plans were for the upper card WCW stars to infiltrate but most had the option to buy out their contracts so they didnt have to appear if they didnt want to work for Vince. Tough ALL of them did wth the sole exceptions of Sting and Luger.

This is all by my recollection and i did not look these up thugh so some facts may be wrong.

I think at the time Benoit, Eddie, Malenko, and Saturn tried to talk Shane into jumping ship with them but he wanted nothing to do with WWE after his initial run in 95. I think someone touched on it in a shoot interview.

That sounds about right. The fact that he rather stay in WCW with Flair than go to a flourishing WWE with NO Shawn Michaels says a lot about how he feels about it.

Yeah, and they actually told Vince to take all of us or none of us, and Shane was a part of it (WWE didn't want Douglas). But he wouldn't go back to WWE and was trying to convince them to stay in WCW. So they left him.

When Austin was to face Rikishi in a no holds barred match at No Mercy in 2000 for retaliation for him running him over, it was mentioned that anything goes and whatever Austin does in the match it would be "ALL LEGAL" then during the match when Austin was about to run over Rikishi with his pickup who he had propped up against the wall, the police intervened and stopped it :why: :wtf:, till this day i don't understand that and it was never explained.
