No one is embarrassing themselves. It's just music.
All this insecurity being projected is unnecessary.
It is embarrassing and humbling to see everyone in agreement that yo shyt trash. Rappers are humans. Y’all dudes on here get mad when someone say the slightest negative thing about u. I can’t imagine thousands shytting on my art

He's been doing music for 15 years without a breakthrough record. Why should his feelings be hurt now?

Math doesn't even NEED music anymore. It's his passion. He has more ears today than he had yesterday. It's perfectly fine if you think he's wack. But as men we have to stop shaming each other for TRYING it gets disturbing after a while.

I’m not shaming shyt. He want radio play because he think his shyt dope. Nothing wrong with that. But the place where he want his music played is not his audience at all.

Honestly even if you were who cares? nikkax decided to take the road less traveled. Rap life is highly desirable when it’s going right. In order to make it to that point you’ll deal with people who aren’t kind for whatever their reasons. Math is going to try to make it work for himself because when shyt is sweet me or you can’t spend his money

Have you tapped into the genre deeply enough to say this? There’s absolutely drill songs that could be played on radio.

There’s already drill songs in heavy rotation.

Drill music isn't going to last in NYC. Property prices are too high for youngins to be in the street "spinning on opps", so you know more indictments are coming.

That little Osama kid that just got killed? That area he's from isn't "like that" but you had people coming over there trying to kick candles. It's corny.

You see how few hip-hop shows there are in NYC now.

Honestly NYC hip-hop DJs & radio played themselves when they didn't allow the get lite music wave grow. A lot of these drill rappers grew up doing backflips & getting lite.

Drill music is already in its 7th year in NYC.

That area where Notti Osama was from is definitely like that what makes you say it’s not. He’s not even the first OY gang member to make major news in NYC.

The kids from now are too young for the Get Lite wave they from the generation after. They also created their own dance wave with “getting sturdy”.

I dig but think about it this way. The Internet got poppin in the mid 90s right? Wouldn’t we sound crazy in 2022 claiming our quality of life has been hindered by the Internet? I would imagine an adjustment had to be made at some point. How can nikkax have daily exposure to their business yet still not know how to navigate it after almost 30 years since an overhaul occurred?

Can you really ask small NY rappers to adjust to one fo the biggest negative change in the media regulation in America. You can't escape media concentration. When the stream is too string, you can't navigate. Just give up and get carried away. That's what New-York tried to do: follow the trend. That's the only "adjustment" you can do.

Low key, Flex typing everything in all caps and ending nearly every sentence with a question mark is hilarious. :mjlol:

Now will this approach change the climate in the music? No it won’t. The youth is still going to fukk with who they like. But Flex is smart in the sense that he knows how to get people riled up, which draws attention his way. This all started with Griselda feeling slighted that Flex ain’t playing their shyt. What came from that? Flex playing a Conway freestyle every night. Now he’s challenging the 90’s/00’s rappers to get in the booth to send him music, making this a competition. Flex is a mastermind at this.

They did, cause the music they made just for getting lite was fire party music.

The climate would have never gotten like this without the Telecommunications Act, and all the radio stations wouldn't be owned and controlled by the same corporations the labels are. There was rap for everyone. I assume you're too young to remember, the commercial shyt the labels bribed got the most play, but DJs could play good non-mainstream stuff or local artists. The internet makes this less necessary, but it would still help build artists by gicing them realtime feedback from real people, as well as the DJ.

A lot of these old head NYers think they’re athletes acting like “I put up 30ppg, why am I not a starter”.

30ppg is a fact, what you do is an opinion and everyone has one :dahell:

Flex plays what’s hot, not the other way
