This. Which is why if I’m a celeb I’d be petrified to get jammed up in this day n age bc mob mentality is real.

There used to be a clear line between likeability and legality. That line is now blurred. If the masses decide you’ve done some scumbag shyt—-being a scumbag typically isn’t illegal—- public outcry can lead to actual charges.

And no one checks it bc, well that person is unlikeable so fukk em. Objectivity is dead. Like no one can even say what Envy should be charged with.

It’s mob mentality to a T. It’s like people salivate at the thought of taking down a celebrity whether they are guilty or not.

Envy could very well be guilty, but the glee hip hop fans are displaying at the thought of taking down Envy before any evidence is presented is disturbing to say the least.

Envy should be charged with the same charges as his partner. Pina was charged with a count of wire fraud at the moment, could be more charges added.

People love to see celebrities fail and take L’s as a lot of people are straight up haters, however, we can’t act like nikkas is just hating on DJ Envy. If you leave the hip hop world and just listen to legal professionals analyze the situation of DJ Envy’s involvement, you’d see that most believe he was complicit someway in this scheme. You just simply can’t be that fukking dumb.

They said the feds raided iheart offices and took cpus, then they clarified that they didn’t confiscate anything, but that the purpose of the visit was to come tell Envy that Cesar got arrested. nikka it’s no way in hell the Feds sent a team to his place of business to tell him Cesar was attested. That literally doesn’t make sense lol.

If this is based on legal precedent and standards, no argument.

But if it’s based on ambiguous mob mentality like ‘you just can’t be that dumb….he’s a scumbag’, that’s where I have a problem

I personally don’t know the legal basis for charges

People have devolved opinions based on the overwhelming amount of video evidence you have of Envy promoting this business, saying they are partners, victims testimonies who said they were brought in by Envy or wouldn’t have invested if he wasn’t aligned with the business, and Envy bringing Cesar to the breaksfast club to promote the business multiple times. People are saying, how can you be involved at this level and have no idea everything wasn’t done on the up and up. It’s a very fair question to ask, and a lot of people feeel it’s more likely than not he knows what was going on.

People don’t have bank records, text messages, or confessions…they just making an opinion based on the evidence they do see. At the very least, dude is guilty of gross negligence. He’s promoting a business where he’s telling people they can make 25-40% ROI in 5 months from just giving them your money to flip houses. Envy cannot be that dumb, and if he is, it’s almost impossible to remain that dumb for years after the fact.

The legal basis for the charges would be the same legal basis for the charges they filed on Pina. Like if me and you had a business and you got caught scamming. Then they locked me up not too long after.

The absolute best case scenario for Envy is that he somehow escapes prosecution, likely by cooperating against Cesar, and he still gets hit with a lot of civil suits.

That one count of wire fraud is just to start things off, they probably collected evidence, phones, IPads.

For the prosecutors they have to prove INTENT to defraud. Wire Fraud could be something as simple as like using a PayPal to accept money from a fraudulent transaction, I'm pretty sure.

all they have is Wire Fraud, which at this stage, looks weak, and preliminary. All that means is he used some form of mail/online whatever to defraud someone. There's no bank fraud, no money laundering, no conspiracy.

The Feds have those same videos and interviews yet they didn’t indict him :wtf:

The reason being is again nothing he said in those interviews constitutes fraud

Also, you don’t prove wire fraud (what Caesar is officially charged with) based on interviews. Wire fraud is a layup it’s a pretty obvious trace (especially someone as clueless as Envy), so if they could have indicted him by now, they would have

He's also charged by complaint, not indictment, complaint: is the quick and dirty way to arrest someone quickly, you scrape the minimum needed to get an arrest warrant and put it in front of a magistrate judge.

Envy is INDIVIDUAL 1 in the complaint, which means the prosecutors are looking right at him, and deciding what they want to do.
