wonder if Drake himself is gonna say something about this:lupe: he probably won't even say anything. He'll probably just release some track wit subliminals at meek:francis:

I'm not a big fan or stan of him but I do listen to Drake every now and again :ehh:
I never saw him as a top tier lyricist:manny: but still this isn't a good look:francis: given the era we're in, he probably won't be finished by this but people definitely won't look at him the same

He's a music artist not a fukking battle rapper. Trust me, by next week no one's gonna give a fukk about this. :dead:

Oh....so battle rappers are the only people expected to write their own shyt.

But wait....Drake did battle Common. So if he didn't write that specific rap, he's a fraud to you?

How deep does the backpedaling and spin go?

And I'm :dead: at "he's a music artist". He don't write his own raps, he can't sing, and he ain't exactly Prince or hell, even Quik when it comes to instruments.

Drake stans, yall. :wow:

I'm looking at the facts....and they're destroying Drake totally independent of my personal opinion.

If you're telling me 95% of the industry in the last 30+ years has reference tracks laying around for songs they didn't write, I'm going to need some kind of proof. Hell, I'll do you a favor and narrow it down to the last 10 years.

You can't prove that. We actually got the Drake references right here. So sorry homie, it sounds like you're just in :cape:mode for Drake. :manny:

Fred.

@hexagram23 You my dude(no homo) when it comes to the film room but are you really a troll when it comes to the booth or do you just like fukking with Drake fans. Because you are damn near responding to every pro-Drake post in this thread. And I know you're smarter than this. Reference tracks are nothing new in hip hop, and this is just one reference track, you really think your favorite rappers, favorite rapper has never used a reference track before? Not all these MCs, artist etc.. come up with a 100% of their ideas for songs, you can't honestly believe that.

For all you saying "it doesn't matter" or "I don't see what the big deal is"...you're not a part of the foundation of this hip hop culture. You're one of the fans of the mainstream part of it, but not the foundation. It's ok do you. But if you were raised on the material of the dudes in my avi, you couldn't even utter the words "I don't see what the big deal is".

Doesn't matter why it was done. No one cares that Loki helped the Avengers stop that Aliens just so he could take over earth.

No one cares that the suicide squad helps save the world because they want to get out of jail sooner. :heh:

The action matters. Not the reason behind it.

Mannnnn...if it came out that Nas ain't write Illmatic...I literally might shed tears. That sounds crazy I know. But as hard as I have rocked to that album for the last 21 years, I would feel like I was raped or something.
honestly, this is why i choose to know as little as possible about these artists. Music was waaaay better when the artists had "mystique". Thats why im glad that 2 of my favorite rappers Phonte & elZHI never really blew like that in the mainstream. I like em better in the underground.
