One track though. Can you name any of Drakes REAL hits that someone else wrote? He has a ton. Who the fukk cares if 1 or 2 tracks came from a reference. If you do then you really have no life and just tryna hate. Drake has a lot of hits that he has written. You tripping over 1 or 2 songs. Facts.

How do you know he wrote them?

Nah if anything hip hop fans are way behind in terms of accepting the idea of a rapper collaborating with other people to make the best music.
Dont try to make it a "rap" thing. Its all relative. Of course rap holds writing to the highest standard, but if you admit it, you prolly still get a pass. When Kanye or Dre make an album, we know that the process is getting the best songwriters and producers together to craft a classic. We hold them to the standard of a composer or director. But if youre getting outside help and claim that youre the nicest in the game, that every song sounds like "Drake featuring Drake", "never the flow tho..." etc, and now we have reason to believe that you werent behind all of that, youre now guilty till proven innocent.

Snoop mentions that he gets help with his verses now in interviews. DOC made him re-do his verse on Think About It and coached him through the shyt. He declared it in an interview. Snoop killed that record and gets props all day for his job on there but I know that DOC penned the shyt. Thats the difference. Drake tried to trick us. Until yesterday we had no reason to believe Drake was getting help

:lolbron: nikka said this snitchin. stop breh

Is this supposed to bother me? :mjlol:

It's 2015 not 1980. No one gives a fukk about rappers writing lyrics anymore. :laff:

@hexagram23 You my dude(no homo) when it comes to the film room but are you really a troll when it comes to the booth or do you just like fukking with Drake fans. Because you are damn near responding to every pro-Drake post in this thread. And I know you're smarter than this. Reference tracks are nothing new in hip hop, and this is just one reference track, you really think your favorite rappers, favorite rapper has never used a reference track before? Not all these MCs, artist etc.. come up with a 100% of their ideas for songs, you can't honestly believe that.

I've been into rap 30 years....and no, most rappers....not the respected ones anyway....have entire reference tracks for songs they supposedly wrote. I don't even know why you'd sit there and type that out, honestly.

Hell, go check a random Drake thread. Check his album threads. I've always thought Drake was a clown so I didn't even enter those. I let his fans breathe. But right now my responses are in direction proportion to how much Drake dikk riding has been going on the last 5ish years.

Fred.

If so many rappers knew, why the fukk didn't anyone say anything sooner though?

Cashing a quick feature check > preserving the honor of hiphop to these new nikkaz. *Remembers when careers of corny nikkaz like Gorilla Black and Lil Zane ending for simply sounding like nikkaz as little as 10 years ago, now we got the top rapper in the game getting lyrical stimuli on every song and the fans don't want the real heads to get brolic :stopitslime:

Good post, I agree with a lot of what you said. But who's to say Drake himself didn't come up with the "Drake template" and that he gets people to write songs for him in his style? Because that's probably how it goes.

I don't dislike the dude but every time some shyt about him comes out the more and more he looks like a pretender at times

No way he can hang around or speak on the battle rap scene without being uncomfortable

For all you saying "it doesn't matter" or "I don't see what the big deal is"...you're not a part of the foundation of this hip hop culture. You're one of the fans of the mainstream part of it, but not the foundation. It's ok do you. But if you were raised on the material of the dudes in my avi, you couldn't even utter the words "I don't see what the big deal is".

SALUTE
