Yeah
If the culture is going to accept ghostwriting like nothing's wrong with it, I don't ever want to hear anyone complain about an Iggy Azalea infiltrating the genre ever again. I'm not saying Drake should be shot in the streets over this, but if stuff like that is getting a pass, then nobody has any right to complain about what happens next. The gates are open now. :yeshrug:
THANK YOU

People been waiting for Drake to fail for so long, have of you don't even remember why :mjlol:

Go pull your favorite artist's latest album that was actually released to stores and post the writing credits. Show me where it just shows their own name....

:sas1:I'll wait
Only way there is only one name in the writing credit is if the artist did the entire song alone with no sample.

The craziest part about all this to me is that it's actually getting out.. like Drake seemed like the kind of nikka that had everyone on his team on the same page, everyone knew their role and were well taken care of to keep confidentiality about whatever is going on. He seems like one of the only rappers in the game that would be smart enough to have his team locked down like that, but I guess not :francis:

I'll probably get called a cac and shyt for my opinion but whatever.. rappers been getting on wax and falsifying their lives and being fake tough for awhile.. Faking their entire lives for a buck

So to me it's like whatever. I find it hard to care when the entire game is fake.

Now him straight up stewing a verse for Who Do Love?? That's indefensible and I don't fukk w/ that.

Side note: I find it interesting chuck ds opinion on it. Basically he said he doesn't care and it's the end product that matters. Tbh. I feel the same

exactly :salute:

not even tryna hear their opinions on the technical parts of the artform either cuz it's obvious they have no real respect of the craft, they're surface-level mainstream consumers at best

Right. Drake makes great music, but in terms of him being an MC, that discussion is over. Because now it's going to be a question of who wrote what, and how much did he write? That's a situation a rapper NEVER wants to be in. How do you get yourself out of that? Look at Eminem. People don't like his newer music for a number of reasons, and he'd probably to some degree he'd brush it off... but I bet you anything, if you questioned whether it's him behind the pen or not, you'd wake up a bear. That's how serious this is.

Mainstream listeners don't care about the culture to the extent we do, so they only want the end result. This is why I've always placed the blame on the consumers and not the creators. Because if we still believed in the old traditional way of doing things, we wouldn't even be having this discussion right now. But here we are.

Rhymefest's wrote and performed ALL of "Jesus Walks" the only thing Kanye did was switch Rhymefest to Kanye West in the 1st verse :mjlol:

You know what the Midwest is? Young and restless
Where coppin' that WORK is your best investment
And none of my nikkas gonna answer questions
Cause none of my nikkas know who the feds is
We hustle hard for dollars like we grew up checkless
Pops wasn't around, mom's smokin' the breakfast
Before I sold weed, we was roach infested
The two girls downstairs was both molested
I promise if I ever made it out of this hellhole
I wouldn't sell blows
I would just sell flows
My nikkas had Nikes, I had Pro Wings shelltoes
Kids knew it was Payless, Footlocker ain't sell those

I got a girl that ain't my girl
That got my baby so she bug me
She ain't even cute so my baby probly ugly

Man sometimes I feel like God don't love me
Maybe the problem is I don't love me
My granny think I'm crazy, the streets is a virus
Sometimes I just want to rest in peace like Osiris
Wait, rest in peace like Osiris

This is Rhymefest version from what I am seeing?

Kanye's verse is very different from this:mjpls:

Seeing all the plea copping from the Mainsteram Music media today is the funniest sh!t ever. You can tell a lot of these writers are not about the culture one bit. I've read articles like "Why Drake having Ghostwriters isn't a Big Deal" to other articles trying to use "Speculation" as some sort of facts to again defend Drake. We got reciepts, evidence, proof that Drake has Ghostwriters. It's a Fact, not speculation. To the extent of how much was written is the debate cause Flex only released one reference tape (We know Flex probably has more but I guess he didn't want to end Drake cause that would of lost a lot of people money).
