Rocko was asking for 10 M’s and the settled; so Rocko got less than 10. I have no idea, but I’m guessing at least 5. Either way, Future gotta give up some M’s
True business is business and Rocko discovered him. Prepped him and Produced him and gave him artist development. He deserves something

That’s why they say don’t mix business with friendship. I don’t know the specifics of their relationship, but from afar, and following Futre early on, it seems like they were boss/artist and good friends.

I’m guessing that when things started to pick up for Future, and he got on, he wanted Rocko to not honor the contract and work some hand shake shyt out and Rocko was like :rudy: and shyt started to go left. Probably wasn’t a favorable contract for Future as well.

Or maybe he just tried to weasel his way out of the contract all together with hopes the label can get him out.

thats a funny word when it comes to new artists.

Once someone finances your career, they are taking the risk. Even if they dont make the money back and the artist gets exposure, the artists wins no matter what.

Just there being someone wanting to invest in an artist is favorable no matter how you slice it.

Yep and it looks like Future tried to do just that. Rocko caught it and he tried to fall back on shaming tactics under the being "a real nicca" banner but he knows that doesn't work in business. Funny thing is, when Drake tried to kick him off of their first tour, he went the legal route himself.

He lashed out on Twitter because he knew he was wrong. If he didn't like the terms, you sit down with your man and work it out. He would've probably came out much cheaper than this. I'm just speculating though...
Future could’ve just kept rocko in the loop and epic would’ve took care of rocko. But naw you just gonna say fukk him like he ain’t put you on.

That’s why it’s hard for new artist to work with producers and find people willing to put up the funds to aid they’re career unless they’re Fukin them like ig models/rappers

its a risk, a huge risk at that.

I see plenty of artists talk about being a boss and staying independent and getting nowhere...

its the ones who sign and get help that make it, even to the smaller CEO's.

Very true bro. I notice that also. Independent artist that try to do it all them self rarely ever see the cast of light. Only thru some lucky event of being in the right place or meeting the right person. But for the most Part the artist that is getting signed mostly are the ones that was helped by a big wig

I agree, but some of these deals are really horrible. It’s always up to the artist to sign though. I know someone who managed a group that could have signed to Slip N Slide and years ago. The deal was so horrible that they turned it down. My guy who managed them said that if he could do it over, they would have took the deal because they never ended up getting a better opportunity. It’s like you almost gotta take a bad deal just to get in the game for a lot of these artist

I hear you.

People tend to forget there is an end to every contract.

I tell new artists, dont get caught up on the splits, they just want to make sure their investment is stable. Focus on the end of the contract and what has to be met to end the deal.

Every artist leaves a deal with value, just meet those demands and when the contract is over either re-negotiate in your favor or find chance elsewhere.
