I don't get the hate. Pharrell has been associated with and involved in tons of songs like it, but he's never been in the limelight as a solo artist.

I'll admit one thing if he really not about that life then it seems funny to even be rapping about it. I'm saying he's not known for any street rap. Unless you looking for Pharrell's music and heard that dj drama mixtape, you'd know him mostly from singing hooks on songs, N.E.R.D., the Daft Punk stuff and his first album which ain't have any singles that were on that street type ish. Featured in all those songs and videos more in the producer sense. No offense, but that's not true at all.
Honestly I understand pharrell's point..it ain't just about "CACs" like y'all sayin..dudes audience after that Happy song is some other shyt..literally worldwide kids and adults...put it like this..my moms wanted to hear his verse on it and when we listened to it together she kinda cringed...dude is on another level now and the subject matter in that song and the way it's delivered is ignorant as fukk..He just sang the chorus on S.N.I.T.C.H.
It is amazing how these tracks can be on the the charts while black empowerment songs hit the bushes.
.....'move that dope' was played on my local radio station 3 times within one hour yesterday while at my cousins cookout
...it hurt my heart seeing all the kids running around singing this bullsht...it's almost like I was watching them being brainwashed right before my eyes
Why only cacs? The average black man isn't against criminal organizations? Cacs are the biggest consumers of gangster music.
Man stfu.. I would respect YOUR answer if you said blacks in general... why it gotta be cacs mufukka..

The only c00n here is the one claiming that only white people are rational and against crime,![]()

I wish I could give more fukks about Pharrell or your analysis of him.
My comment was directed at Pharrell's newly discovered blackness and his attempt to diffuse any racial tension by not being associated with people that make drug references. His first thought when he heard the title of the song and the hook wasn't, "shyt, maybe I have reached a point where I no longer need to rely on enforcing stereotypes and negatively influence kids. No, instead, I can drop a couple of jewels on what I did to get successful or get Future to change the direction of the song."
nope.
He instead asked one of Future's weed carriers to write him a verse that talks about him knowing nikkas that are packin' with the biggest missiles and how they are knocking over vehicles. He felt like he needed to conform to his "new" values which are shown by his recent interview with Oprah and his new album. nikkas in the hood aint been happy since the 60s but somehow we are all one nation and no longer have to worry about racial stereotypes or feel threatened that we will no longer be judged by the color of our skin![]()

Don't single out white people as the only ones having negative views on crime and then turn around call people c00ns for pointing out that black people are against it as well.![]()
