Game 1 of the 2014 World Series was no "royal" in terms of the ratings.
Tuesday night's opening game of the Major League Baseball World Series brought in 12.1 million viewers for Fox, making it the lowest rated game 1 and the fifth lowest rated World Series game of all time.

The game, which saw the San Francisco Giants stomp the Kansas City Royals 7-1, rated a 3.4 among viewers aged 18 to 49, down 15% from last year's Series, a match-up of the Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals.

Alternatively, this year's Series includes the small market Royals. They haven't been in the World Series since "Back to the Future" was in theaters.

Kansas City tuned in. Game 1 scored a huge 48.2 overnight in Kansas City. In San Francisco, however, it rated a 29.3 overnight.

to be fair, bay area market also had to compete with Golden State Warriors pre season opener (it was sold out I believe)

and do they count just San Francisco? or the entire bay area ?

not sure, i know baseball is huge out here, but in terms of a national level, seems like nobody cares.

Giants aren't a much watch it's a diff era the only teams I can see seriously being a huge ratings draw are the Cubs or Dodgers vs Yankees. Red Sox got 3 rings in 10 years that "Red Sox Nation" shyt is played out it is what it is. NBA lucky the teams that are supposed to be good make it every year. You know that jew Stern was shytting bricks 2 years ago when a potential Pacers/Grizzles final or Pacers/Spurs final could of popped off. Bet 70 percent of the Coli would've duck that final too even with the loyal NBA stans that pollute the Coliseum daliy or so they claim.:sas2:

Giants might have 2 chips, but they don't have barry bonds who would have drawn more viewers and k.c. lineup even tho a nice lineup doesn't have a household name to have anybody watch
true, I hate the Giants but if bonds was playing I'll watch.....shyt was fun as hell watching bonds, Sosa, McGwire smash home runs
