I remember when the Yankees n 'Sawx' were dominating, and pundits and fans would scream endlessly that they, and joe public, were sick of big market organization dominance, and were insistent that spreading out the success to small market squads was crucial. They would often use the Royals specifically as a team that was a victim of the harsh cruelty that was the MLB.

Welp, here here are. The Yankees havent been relevant in years, and the playoffs have been littered with small and mid market teams for a minute, with the cherished Royals now in the world series. Conspicuous by their absence are those that whined for over a decade that this sort of market diversity in the playoffs was all they wanted to see. Those viewers who were supposedly so turned off by the yankees, and were waiting on the Royals to propel baseball to new viewership heights are nowhere to be found.

Interest in baseball is probably more regional than any other sport. I don't ever watch baseball but I would have tuned in if the Nationals or O's had advanced.

Side note: MTV has a baseball show and I watch the commercials like :dwillhuh: Why would they put this on TV. Nobody knows who those people are. They don't even featured on ESPN, let alone MTV

to be fair, bay area market also had to compete with Golden State Warriors pre season opener (it was sold out I believe)

and do they count just San Francisco? or the entire bay area ?
So preseason basketball games are more popping than the fukking World Series now? :omgih:
