Im not sure why folks want games to come sooner. nikkahs got jobs, wives, and kids, no time to be playing 10 hours a day
It is true that AAA games rising cost are an unsustainable trajectory but AI will bring the cost developing them down a LOT.
problem is if the game is trash even on top of the AI development you got no one to blame but yourself...
sounds like we're 90% thereNow if i respond to this with actual facts would we have a real convo or would we just go on to more cult facts for daps??
It means lots of things but just to spell a few out.
Hardware will be sold for profit. No more “cheap” consoles.
AAA games will take much less risks. We will still get the big games like GTA6 but if it’s not a for sure hit, it probably won’t be greenlit.
Things like A.I. Microtransactions, DLC, Cross gen games, etc. Lots of the things gammers rally against will become even more prevalent.
Games will likely shrink in size/scope instead of growing.
Exclusive games will continue to get fewer and fewer.
There’s more stuff to list, but there’s a few for you![]()
Gatcha games have gone from 2d jpegs to 100m+ budget open world games like zelda/gta, lol @ swallowing meach.sounds like we're 90% there
Let’s try.
First off i will preface this by saying. It’s not the layoff olympics. Microsoft’s amount of layoffs doesn’t change the overall reason pretty much EVERY major tech company has gone through extensive layoffs recently. They are all dealing with the same market conditions and they all responded pretty much the same with layoffs.
With that said with regard to microsoft in gaming specifically, your number is made up. I’m not sure where you got 2500+ from but it’s not a number that’s been reported anywhere that i have seen.
Now let’s see if i get a reasonable response, or more cult dap bait![]()
" and you can't read the first 5 results of a google search when Microsoft is the one doing the most egregious gaming layoffs BY FAR. 2500+ was just in 2024 alone.Console warz ass response.Crazy how "It's not the layoff olympics" and you can't read the first 5 results of a google search when Microsoft is the one doing the most egregious gaming layoffs BY FAR. 2500+ was just in 2024 alone.
1900 laid off in Jan 2024
650 in Sept 2024
July 2025: 10% of King, 50% of Turn 10 Studios, The Initiative shut down, and more Zenimax Layoffs
Yes the game industry is trending downward from the covid boom and dealing with a bad overall economy, but Sony, Nintendo, and Valve are still chugging along relatively fine selling hardware AND software in their respective lanes. A couple down years is not a "crash". Indie devs just cleaned house at the Game Awards with multiple nominees that were $50 or less and the Switch 2 was the fastest selling console ever hitting over 10million units in a year. The real players in the industry always adapt and find ways to thrive. Fun, well designed games are still selling like gangbusters and always will.
Microsoft is just shytting the bed with Xbox in the midst of all this so you and Titan wanna concern troll over an "industry crash", while you somehow have ZERO smoke and the utmost understanding for a company that is very much contributing to all the things talked about in said crash and doing so at a larger scale than anybody else

5 years ago if I told yall that
- Electronic Arts would be sold in 2025 to the saudi's
- Take-Two would acquired Gearbox in 2024.
- Ubisoft would slowly be bought out by tencent
- And warner Bros. games would be in limbo
That alone would have had y'all telling me that the industry must have crashed. Now add everything else that has happened around gaming and the industry and tell me everything thing is on the up and up and it's just recovering from "COVID", at this point we've been out of COVID longer than we were in it.
"The most costly and damaging"Hilarious how you left out the most costly and damaging acquisition over the past 5 years
to who? Surely not consumers. It's wasn't far fetched for MS to acquire whoever was selling and they wanted, that's the main reason why you stans felt so threatened by everything they did.Hilarious how you left out the most costly and damaging acquisition over the past 5 years

You missed that boat by a few months. It ain’t getting better anytime soon, or ever. So might as well find some deals and build NOW bc it won’t be getting cheaperonly hoping for a component crash. i'm bout to fork out dough for a PC, but i refuse to pay this much for RAM or SSDs, FOH
