Dudes were hitting the ye shrug on some "layoffs suck, shyt happens :yeshrug:" when 2500+ devs across ABK/Bethesda/Xbox Game Studios got let go in the last 2 years while multiple studios and games well into development got canceled. Now in December '25 after Xbox got outsold by the TemuBox and M$ too poor to afford to do a '25 Wrapped for their players because they're so invested in AI, they crying about an industry crash :unimpressed:
Y'all shell shocked by Microsoft, you'd swear Microsoft took y'all girls. :mjlol:

No one said that, consolidations happen and layoffs are typically a part of that. A big part of why I was so confident on consolidations coming the last 5 years is because of the price to make games, and gamers being so adamant about making sure these devs didn't have to deal with mandatory crunch ( were a lot of important things use to get squared away) all before COVID started. Once COVID hit, I was deemed an "essential worker" and was privy to a lot of discussions and decisions on remote work during COVID.

The quality of work was overall down even though more time was being spent "working" than when in office according to metrics, and it got to the point were it wasn't even worth the massive money companies were saying on building cost.

It's almost 2026 and the way we game now is almost completely different than how we did pre 2020. I use to regularly have to meet up with different folks to get the optimal gaming experience pre 2020. Now I can sit in my car and get the same experience if not better depending on the local equipment.

The industry shifting to the west, and the price of developing triple A games starting to balloon has had a effect on gaming world wide and imo sparked this consolidation need especially with publishers that are heavily western based with making games.

so what are we arguing here? what's "best" for consumers isn't always what's best for the industry (if we're trying to prevent this so-called crash)
Its just suppose to be a discussion of thoughts. There is no was right or wrong answer just opinions on if people feel like the gaming bubble has burst or will burst.

I feel like if it's one thing people should be able to agree is that the gaming experience in 2020 is significantly different than 2025.

“Hold accountable” fukk does that even mean?:dahell:

You goofies still stuck trying to “blame” someone.

All tech companies on earth are reacting to the same conditions.

With or without microsoft the same shyt would be happening.

45,000 layoffs in gaming, and all you weirdos wanna talk about is microsoft.

This is why you are cult members, your obsession with your villain, microsoft shapes your identity.

Also the AI arms race has jumped in and lapped everything else as far as R&D and investment.

To the point were corps are willing to upset consumers and creators to try to get ahead in the AI game.

And the crazy thing is, it's a complete toss up as to who will win or what will happen.
