Wrong. Resident Evil 4 was the one that popped the over the shoulder cam off...it came out an entire year before Gears. Also Winback borrowed its cover system from Metal Gear.

Metal gear was a stealth game, winback was a shooter that focused on cover based action. Cant really say one borrowed from the other seeing as they were both in development at the same time and had drastically different gameplay.

Point is its ridiculous to act like zelda and mario weren't inspirations and have been the same game for years while excusing gears of war for being the same game just because it combined two existing styles of gameplay.

I'll never forget that shyt. Dude was arguing that all the Sony exclusive games were basically clones of each other because of their third person camera and that the new God of War was just another Uncharted.
