I don't know about manufacturers but gun distributors and private sellers should definitely be on the hook when they carelessly sell to people with little to no background checks.

If clubs and bars can be held liable for people drunk driving then the same should apply to firearm sellers that sold to people who ended up using those guns during a crime.
