Nah people aren't going to church to live exactly by the bible. They're looking for reassurance that the way they already live is OK. If a pastor is up there telling people they're a horrible person for having recreational sex with their wife, drinking socially, having premarital sex with their girlfriend, they're finding another church to attend. People want to have their vices, give a half ass apology, and go to heaven.

The way people pick and choose which parts of the bible have importance is :snoop:

You're talking "going to church" and religion. I'm talking what the the bible says. Why people go to church, what they do in their own personal life or how they interpret the bible or Christianity it is another thing. :manny:

I posted those verses to awnser your question of "is one sin greater than another".

Those show that it's not a particular deed that's more egregious -
but rather learning that something is sinful yet continuing to "practice" it.
I dont get being gay not gay personally but I don't hate gay people and don't understand the hypocrisy what you posted does not support your argument.

I didn't even present an argument. lol
I just awnsered your question about whether or not all sins are the same...

...but for the record, I don't care how you feel about gay people and you don't care how I feel about gay people.
But hopefully you can see from those scriptures that it's not "hypocrisy" for someone who follows the Bible
to not give props to homosexuals.

And I'm saying the bible condemns a lot of behavior that just gets glossed over by the church because its either impractical or unenjoyable to abide by them.

The bible would say things like bars and strip clubs shouldn't exist, but they do, they don't prevent bible followers from following the bible, and shyt, theyre frequented by Christians :heh:

I fully support the church's right to be as hateful and bigoted as they want within its own sanctuaries. When they come out in the real world spewing the same nonsense they have to accept that the reactions will be different. The church should have the right to hate and outlaw homosexuals from their premises and not reside over or even recognize their marriages. But outside the church, its time to fukk off and mind your business.

And Curry has nothing to do with all of this, the writer was reaching.

as crazy as it may seem...

^^ if every anti-gay organization/church etc. used this excuse and not some random bible quote I'd respect them more. and don't even get me started with the whole "how can I explain that to my children" bullshyt some people are on. or that loving gay couple is somehow a worse option for a child than a neglecting single parent/straight couple.

just say it's gross and move on, I respect that more than trying to come up with some bullshyt about your religion or children in general. :manny:
Because they know that if their entire argument is reduced to "its gross so I dont like it", it comes off as petty and a pathetic excuse for trying to condemn people and deny them rights. So they have to hide behind the religion and pretend like its some strong-held belief or moral issue.

That's the "entire" argument, is it?
That's the only way somebody can feel about that?
