Aye, what beat was that?
Aye, what beat was that?
I fukks with Cam, but the lyrics didn't need dumbing down. They were never high level in the first place.camron spoke on it himself if memory serves me correctly…more or less said he dumbed down his lyrics for the audience
This is cap. Especially the Purple Haze part. He was actually MORE lyrical on Purple Haze than Come Home With Me.although glimpses of it could be heard in purple haze, camron’s regression as a lyricist was obvious upon the release of killa season. the artist who once effortlessly floated over tracks became a barely comprehensible hack given to amateurish punchlines and a choppy flow.
not sure what happened. might have been the liquor and weed.

You wilding Killa Season was a dope album. It could arguably be Cam best album.although glimpses of it could be heard in purple haze, camron’s regression as a lyricist was obvious upon the release of killa season. the artist who once effortlessly floated over tracks became a barely comprehensible hack given to amateurish punchlines and a choppy flow.

Nah this aint a gen z thing, breh is just a hip hop fan

His Westside Gunns are hilarious

Canary burgundy: I call it "Lemon Red" (Red)
Yellow diamonds in my ear, call 'em "Lemonheads"
Lemonhead, end up dead, ice like Winnipeg
Gemstone, Flintstones, you could say I'm friends with Fred
You unhappy, scrappy? (What's going on, Scrappy?)
I got Pataki at me
bytches say I'm "Tacky Daddy," Range look like Laffy Taffy
Them nikkas knew we bang
Stood out like Pootie Tang
Soon as the stoolie sings
That when the toolie sing!
Bang! Bang!
Came from that movie ring
Snap, crack jewelry bling
Flapjack, ooh he bring
Clack-clack, "ooh he ring!"
Bad rap, cuties cling
Ass cap, put them in the river
I'm the sushi king
And I'ma keep ya fresh
Let the fish eat ya flesh

Cut the bullshyt.
Cam was nice. Always was. And that wasn't a "Big L" flow. All of COC's flows derived from G Rap.ehhh the big L flow is nice here.... but I'm talking about albums.
I give Cam credit that even on his early shyt he was always creative with concepts.
But the lyrics was never too tough.
Ironically him and Dips ended up blowing cos of Heatmakerz/ Just Blaze/ Kanye production, pink clothing, swag and audacious interviews.
Jimmy picked up the slack for a while though
