What you’re saying doesn’t make sense. I remember that first biggie and pac documentary as well. He picked a person out of a lineup. He didn’t know their name. It was after the fact that the directors told him ‘this is Amir Muhammad aka harry billups’.

It was later allegedly found that they’re not the same person (I’m not sure I even believe that).

So it sounds like Gene is making the correction that was publicly made: that the person he saw, the person he picked out of a lineup, is not named Harry biullips. He is NOT saying ‘oh nah I ever saw anybody’. If that’s your entire basis for thinking Gene is a liar that’s weak
