Trump about to take one hell of a victory lap.

“The Democrats let you starve! They let you starve. Ask Crying Chuck Schumer why he shutdown our beautiful government?!? He let you starve for 40 days and 40 nights….just like Moses with the Ark….remember that movie with the LATE GREAT CHARLESTON HESTON…THE ten COMMANDMENTS! he was great. He said from my cold dead hands!!!. Crying Chuck Schumer cut off your groceries with SNAP…SNAP, I like that word. But I said open it up!! Give people food. And I’m going to take care of the ACA very soon by the way. Soon everybody will be taken care of with a beautiful healthcare paid for with the trillions we have coming in….”

I’m still just :snoop: at the whole thing. The only idea that I can hold on to is the notion that if they reopen and then the idea of the Republicans failing more shows up, they can hang their hat on “I told you so!”

However, I think this will be more of a case that the Dems got played on the whole “Surely the Republicans can’t go lower, they have at least SOME shame”. Nope, getting rid of all social safety nets is their goal.

Schumer was a no vote to save his own ass, he wasn't a no vote because its something he believes in as a leader. Schumers own WHIP leader was a yes vote, like I said above yall stay falling for this trick bag. If it's not these villians this time next time it will be Schatz and Schumer like the previous time
Who is y'all? You're speculating

And people can afford to pay double to quadruple their health care premiums?

If you're going to start something like this then finish it. If you won't finish it then don't start at all. This shutdown was pointless. It should have never happened.

The reason the republicans have the presidency, the supreme court, and congress is because when they start something they're getting their way period. If this situation was reversed they would have not caved in. You can't fight against a person that's willing to do whatever it takes to get their way when you simply aren't.

The reality is there is no fight to go on. The democrats have no way of getting anything from the republicans.

I know this might seem like a foreign concept to you, but in a disastrous situation, you've got to triage and address whatever's most disastrous.

It became clear over the last week that not only was the administration willing to die on the hill of denying SNAP benefits, but they were willing to fight it in court. I legitimately think Democrats weren't expecting them to actively fight court rulings demanding payment, but that's a separate conversation.

But I guess the real question I'd ask, is how exactly was this supposed to end? Like, what was the path to getting what the Democrats wanted? Having leverage really only matters when the person you have the leverage over actually cares about the harm they could do by not respecting it. We are very clearly not in that situation.

The democrats have proven that in the face of a government shutdown they'll give in. If this ever happens again the republicans know if they hold the line they'll get what they want. Even if the democrats get power back all the republicans have to do is another shutdown and they'll ultimately get what they want.

If the resolve to go through with it wasn't there it should have never been started. This can never be used effectively again because one side proved how far they were willing to go and the other proved how far they weren't.

I'm not saying people should starve I'm saying when you threaten something like this you go through with it no matter what. Let them be the ones in court fighting against feeding the public. Destroy them by forcing them to stand for something unconscionable.

This is the best individual chance the Dems have had to end the MAGA/far right movement since it began. Even Covid didn’t hurt Trump this bad. Trump was going to let this shyt look like the Great Depression with food lines just to “win the deal” here. Now he wins, his retarded voters will think they’ve won even when their check looks like piecemeal after those premiums go up, and Dem voters with balls will be even less interested in backing these feckless morons.

The centrist wing of the Democrat party needs to be eradicated entirely. They provide no contemporary value and no competition
the MAGA movement is ending. It has no steam without Trump

The issue isnt MAGA, but the effort after it. The current Democratic Party ideology isnt equipped for it.

I am convinced they gonna try to make Spanberger presietn in 2028.

You're speculating that Schumer only did so to save his hide. You know WTF I was referring too you sleazebag

Dems literally cannot win with y'all. doesn't matter what they do or don't do. Y'all some disingenuous MFS I tell ya
So either it's:

A. Chuck schumer is a weak incompetent leader that do not have control of his own caucus let alone his WHIP leader

Or

B. Chuck schumer agrees with ending the shutdown and has control of his caucus

Which one is it?
