I have no stock investments so I'm going to say some wild ignorant shyt. Is any of this tangible real life money to people? People saying they are down thousands is that actual thousands you could extract at any time. This shyt has always seemed way too complicated for me to get involved with considering the anxiety this can produce.
For most people it’s lost time.
Your portfolio is supposed to slowly increase over time.
People are looking at their retirement take a 2 year step back, and with current uncertainty that could turn into a 3-5 year detour.
Imagine you are close to retirement age and now you gotta add 3-5 years to your retirement plan
Also, imagine people who just put money in anticipating trump to be the “good for business” president.
They are down 30%+ right now just in the last 2 months.
it’s not “realized losses” till you sale but if you watched your 10k turn into 7k in the last few weeks it’s extremely hard to just sit by and feel like things will just improve.
