So this last book will have a different ending than the GOT tv show right???:patrice:
This isn't the last book.

GRRM has two more books planned. Winds of Winter (the one this thread is about) and then A Dream of Spring (which is supposed to be the final book, he's hinted that he can't rule out more).

But he says some of the endings for the main characters will be similar, but others will be completely different. A lot of the stuff that happened in the show can't happen in the books (for instance, there is no Night King in the books, so Arya won't kill a Night King that ends the White Walkers). Dany burning KL, Jon killing her, and Bran becoming King are probably broadly similar to what will happen in the books. The journeys there will be very different though.

Oh ok...:ld: I really don't see how people was going crazy when the story is not initially over because the book series isnt finished...:heh:

How can y'all hate cacs so much but care so much about what goes on in the imagination of one cac?

I'm saying this as someone with Thrones in his top 5 tv shows of all time.
this a dumbass post fr, and I don't even know how to explain why it's so dumb. Obviously they're fans of his fukking writing lmao.

Will the book readers even care by then now that the show has killed off any anticipation?:hubie:
The crappy way the show ended turned me into a devout book reader and a bigger fan of the books than the show. And I was a show watcher who had never heard of the books when I first decided to watch the show.

Martin reminds me of the Berserk writer
Berserk like GOT is a fantasy story but is based on revenge
It's similiar in scope w/ major character deaths, character development, moral grayness, etc.
It's been more than 30 years and he still hasn't finished the manga and is only 60-70% done
He release maybe 2 chapters at most a year if you're lucky and then goes on 1-3 year+ hiatuses
It's quarantine and he still moves at the same fukking pace :mjlol::mjcry:
Martin may die before he finishes the books
