The oversight committee found that Santos was up to conduct unbecoming his office. Unfortunately, there isn't bipartisan consensus for Gaetz.

Are you old enough to remember Dennis Hastert? He was the Speaker of the House. Dude went to prison for financial crimes related to him sexually abusing boys.

Then there was that whole House Post Office scandal involving a bunch of congress people that brought down House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Dan Rostenkowski.

Then there was the Ted Kennedy Chappaaquiddikk situation, but he might have been a Senator at that point. That chick in that incident died.

Then there was that whole House Page scandal back in the 1980s.

Then there was crap involving Mark Foley.

There are a lot of other incidents involving members of Congress that have been off the rails. Then there were some funny stories too like the one involving Arkansas Congresman Wilbur Mills and his stripper girlfriend Fannie Fox.

The fact that this actually happened at all, is hope. He's foolish but so Gaetz. And Gaetz had enough on him to get expelled and he's stayed on anyway.

The fact that the GOP even voted against him in those numbers is hopeful. Normally this would have been a party line vote with 5 defectors.
