Let me entertain this. Lets say: “Yes"

Now what?
Now what? Now you've admitted you believe Black people being politically active is the problem, not white racism/apathy, not GOP racism, not voter suppression. You're blaming Black participation for white resentment, which implies the only remedy is for Black voices to be silenced, so racist white people can feel comfortable.

I want your serious answer about how to address THIS:

Democrats haven’t won a state-wide constitutional office in over 20 years in Georgia, outside of Ossoff and Warnock in extreme run-off elections with Trump on the ballot.

A literal WHITE ELECTED DEMOCRAT WHO FLIPPED A SEAT IN THE US HOUSE IN A RED STATE…is telling you what is pushing white voters away, and your answer is to ignore that?

OK, whats your plan?

ALSO…the seat she had? …it went back to being republican.

So again…whats YOUR answer?

Identity politics allows democrats to get away with doing nothing for voters by providing a moral victory to white people and minorities. White people get the sense of moral supremacy that in supporting a disabled black woman in an election they can say they're a Good Person who supports progressive thought/ideals. Minorities get to see themselves in positions, including positions of power, and it reinforces support in the party. The problem is that these candidates primary don't do anything for the communities they come from, they often don't get leadership positions once they get to congress, and their role is largely about symbolism (or tokenism).

A few months ago the first/only trans woman (democrat) in congress voted against an affordable housing bill. She also does not support universal healthcare. She actively votes against policies that help her marginalized community because the party line dictates it. Well...what's the point in being there? Same applies to the Black Caucus. If you're just a doormat for the same policies, why do you need to exist? Why shouldn't a white guy just get the seat?

End result: a party that doesn't get much done, constantly waving these losers in your face saying see look, here's a loud black woman who is just like you (Crockett)! Here's a black guy from the tough streets of NY who is just like you (Jeffries)!

I honestly don't believe there is a happy medium. It's the difference in how the sides of this rift see each other. Just putting up a person of color is/can be seen as identity politics to White people. It's why so many were like see racism is over because we voted a black man as president.

Then immediately flip and will say he divided the country because he framed something in his experience. Him saying if he had a son it could look like Trayvon. Pissed people off because these people couldn't see it as a call for empathy. Trayvon didn't look like their son so now he's playing identity politics.

It gets hate but that quote that is "racism is so American that when you protest it. People think you are protesting America." Echoes when you see all these think pieces on the forgotten white male. The last decade and change news hits on these rust belt rural diners and their patrons. Or all these "the working class, kitchen table issues are what really matters."

Because those people don't take in that message if the person doesn't look like them. Cause white people don't think they have identity politics even though they have a hard time accepting pocs are having the same issues and the same wants

Exactly.

When people complain about "Identity politics" what they're really complaining about is too many candidates that aren't heterosexual white guys.

I gave you a serious answer for your false premise. Black voters are not the problem. White voters consciously supporting a racial hierarchy and Republicans' anti-democratic tactics are. I'm rejecting the belief that shrinking or silencing Black voices is the path forward. Appeasing them instead of confronting them is why we're here in the first place.

It’s a numbers game.

Give me the numbers you need to win and I’ll give you your props.

It won’t matter cause all these red states are about to remove “black” seats anyways so you are gonna have a tougher time trying to double down on “race” to win this issue.

I get it. De-centering yourself is uncomfortable but its about to get rocky, so….are you ready?

theres nuance here.

Did people really think “black only scholarships” and “programs” and events for black politicians etc wasn’t gonna push white voters on the fence and independents away?

Again a white female in an ATL area district is telling you what her constituents are saying is an obstacle.

Centering race has clearly not worked.
