Medicare is working well. I don't see why we can't have a national universal healthcare system. The amount that we would pay in taxes would be much less than what we would pay out of pocket like we do now.

Problem is big pharma and insurance industry make medical costs extremely high. Also American are fat and unhealthy as shyt. They probably have 5x the medical needs a Japanese person would, you can't provide free health care to a nation of sick people.
