Have nothing to hide. Wall is hidden, friends are hidden, never post, like or do anything else on it except for stalk others which becomes addictive and a waste of time. Have thought about deleting it but have old professional acquaintances from back when linkedin wasn't there and you never know when you might need to get in touch with them. For this reason alone i haven't deleted it. Also a very long recent article on wired about the internal struggles at Facebook.

Oh c'mon man, it aint that serious. Facebook was always just a marketing platform. Did yall really think they weren't selling your info(browsing habits/interests) to other companies? People acting like their social security numbers got exposed.

Check Signal's wikipedia page for its history. Signal's founder sold its precursor to Twitter and now has formed a partnership with the guy who sold Whatsapp to FB.

Signal's founder also actively slanders Telegram's founders because they use unorthodox and slightly less secure (but still very secure) encryption protocols. Tries to slander them because they're from Russia too, even though they fled Russia and operate from elsewhere now.

But Signal also just plain sucks in terms of functionality while Telegram is cutting edge and has even better and more features than Whatsapp.
