An already amazing legacy just continues to grow. At minimum, he was already Top 25 starting this season. And I know many had him higher, but I'm saying at minimum he's Top 20 now and hastily climbing no matter where anyone has him...

Gonna be 1st Team All-NBA again, so go ahead and pencil that in. 7x All-NBA with 4 1st Teams, overrated ass Dwyane Wade made it 8x with 2x 1st Team. Gonna finish Top 5 in MVP votes for the 4th time in his career, with 2 wins. Wade finished Top 5 twice, never higher than 3rd place. Mentioning Wade because I had Curry ahead of him but only slightly to start the year. To me he's clearly separated from Wade historically, that isn't a real comp anymore. Wade was pretty much done as an elite player after Year 10 (2013 was the last GREAT Wade year), Steph in Y12 still busting ass...

This guy is amazing, and The Culture gonna miss him when he's gone. I'm not sure why so many people questioned his leadership off a 5-game sample from last year, he's a proven leader. And this year was probably his greatest work, this team doesn't win 25 games without him. He raised this team's floor significantly...

His impact on the sport is legendary...

The comp with Durant is gonna rage on because of how closely aligned they are, but I know this. There are several things Curry has proven to be that Durant hasn't yet, and a big part of Durant's legacy is riding on how his tenure in Brooklyn plays out...

Any basketball head should appreciate Curry while he still here. He's 33 and 12 years in, NBA history tells us he's probably headed towards the back nine of his career. There's no telling how long he can still perform at this level or how long he plays overall, but its probably less than 5 years. Appreciate this man...
Name these things

For starters, Curry has won without Durant

Durant has not won without Curry :manny:

Also, contrary to revisionist history, Curry's first ring he won was NOT a super team. It was a regular good team that was in sync. A lot of people didn't think Curry was gonna lead that type of team to a ring, and a lotta people thought they should have traded Klay for Kevin Love back then.

So Curry got a ring without a super team, Durant hasn't.

Curry 2x MVP
Durant 1x MVP

Still pissed me off those idiots in the media gave the FMVP to Iggy, and in turn idiots on here use that against him

I was really impressed with Steph this year. My two biggest issues with him were always 1) his defense and 2) his durability.

In terms of defense, teams used to headhunt him and try and exploit that matchup. He's gotten stronger defensively and can stand his ground now. This year you couldn't just pick on him.

And in terms of durability he always used to break down physically at the end of seasons, especially when he had to carry a heavy load night after night. This season he was consistently great night in and night out, and didn't seem to wear down at all.

All this on top of the legendary shooting, scoring and playmaking.

Regardless of what happens in the playoffs, Steph did his f*cking thing this year. If Klay comes back healthy and they get another starting piece, they will be contenders again next year.

Steph was amazing this season as what he did was just as much if not more impressive than his 2016 MVP season. He was a targeted man all season and the numbers he put up (especially the second half of the season) gives him 2 of the greatest offensive seasons ever. He's more than a shooter which is why i think many don't give him the props he deserves. But Steph is deadly from the midrange too and can get to the cup with and elite handle. He's pretty much a complete point guard and has great size to match too. Those type of skills would translate to any era and we need to understand that we are witnessing an all time great when he plays.

What makes it even more impressive is how he has almost zero continuity with this team.

He played 5 games last year, then this year they added Oubre, Wiseman, Minion, JTA, etc.

So he had to jump in to a completely new team, without any real practice or pre-season due to covid... after not playing for almost a year because of his hand injury.

And the first half of the year, Kerr was slow and experimenting with the lineups.

And despite that, Curry's record when he has played is 37-28... they are 2-7 without him. If he played those games they're probably hovering around 5 or 6th.

So Curry has actually been great this year. We forget this team was 15-50 last year.

At least @CHICAGO didn't delete the thread :manny:

Man....I hated how the media tried to make like Iggy was playing lockdown defense. Bron was averaging 36-13-9 :russ:

Be a FMVP for playing "defense" on a nikka who lead both teams in points, rebounds, and assists brehs:russ:
Somehow Bron was having one of the greatest performances of all time, but the guy defending him deserved Finals MVP:gucci:
