SAN ANTONIO - A homeowner and her son were shot Saturday afternoon after a dispute with a tenant.

Authorities were called to 100 Vista Road for reports of a shooting at about 3 p.m. Police said a verbal dispute escalated into a physical confrontation, when the tenant fired several shots at the homeowner and her son.

The two victims were taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center in serious condition, while the tenant is at University Hospital with head injuries sustained by a iron bar.

The mother later died and has been identified as 43-year-old Jennifer Alvarado, by the Bexar County Medical Examiner.

A family member said 19-year-old Joe Alvarado is still in surgery and is in critical condition.

That’s the problem with society. Toxic people think they are entitled to everything.

Honestly a landlord shouldn’t even be working like a slave to get rent due. Local government should.

I let the courts sort this stuff out. If a person you're renting your place to hasn't paid in months and still lives there like nothings wrong they probably wont do so if you knock on their door. Not sure what the mom and son was expecting. Sad she lost her life over something easily handled through the courts.

That's facts, but people over extend themselves all the time. The landlord probably needed that rent to pay the mortgage on that house. The eviction process takes months. They could've been in danger of being foreclosed on.
