Own place. The only bonuses of having a roomate are better internet and cable tv packages. Everything else will make you wish you had your own spot.

if you can alone, more freedom, roomates usually clash or get annoyed. sometimes you want personal time and they bring people over, you have to worry about theft, dishes etc if you are a clean person. Privacy is most important though..

if no kids, condo. house is alot of maintenence when you factor in yardwork, unless you goin for that halfway house look... its always better to buy, but if your trying to build credit/establish yourself, aint nothing wrong with renting for a period while you stack loot.
I'm of the believe that every man (and woman too probably) should live alone for an extended period at some point in their lives. To go from the nest to roommates or even worse living with a woman results in them missing out on a very valuable life experience, IMO.
You definitely learn a lot about yourself when living alone, and definitely learn how to find happiness without being dependent on someone else for it, which is an insanely important thing.
And besides the greater life lessons, living alone is amazing. You can do whatever you want whenever you want.

How much debt do you have and how long do you think it would take you pay it off? If it's less than a year and a half, leave your savings where it's at and just start putting as much as you can towards the debt and get it cleared up real fast. If you think you'll need a car w/i the next year, save up some additional money for that and then get a place of your own.
The goal is really to be and STAY debt free once you leave the nest that way you're less likely to go back. Once you get your own place you can focus on just stacking more money and living your life vs paying unncessary bills.
