It's like "swag", when you hear white people on TV and social media using it, it's played out IMO. I remember telling a girl I'm not going to take an L back in 2000 (which we were saying in the mid 90's) and she had no idea what the hell I was talking about. Fast forward to 2006, and she was using that as part of her normal vocab. Same with catch a body/get bodied, that's been around since the 90's but I didn't hear it as normal slang until like 2004. The Internet killed local slang, once it starts getting used on social media it spreads like a wildfire and gets played out faster. Common sense, I know.
